Have just felt the need to correct someone who suggested Mark Cavendish winning a couple of stages (actually 4) of last years TdF was akin to Andy Murray winning the Miami Open
Why is it not considered unsportsmanlike conduct for women tennis players to shriek every feckin time they hit a ball? The blokes only do it when absolutely necessary. I saw 10 mins of the Safina match yesterday and it was appalling. Sharapova is just as bad.
Big thing in the paper about that today - how it is detracting from the tennis and that actually there are no great female players currenlty, just "lookers". That Russian one (you boys wil know who I mean) has never won a major tournament, yet is world famous!
I'd just had a Lanza fest! Is it just too sad that I have put my two certificates, my two finish line pics and a couple of others up in my kitchen?
I'm so sleepy, I've just dozed off on the sofa and woken to the sight of both kids standing on the (internal) windowledge. Struggled to sleep till 11.30ish last night then small boy was sick 4 times in the night between 12 and 1.30am - 4 bedding changes needed. Then Wockette came through to tell me something unimportant at 2.15am, then Wickett got up at 4am and small by woke at 5.30am.
Sports day was good though. Even better was the absence of a Mother's race The Wockette was 2nd or 3rd in all her races, of which I was especially proud of her attempts at doing the bat & beanbag (think egg & spoon) properly with no holding the beanbag on, which is what the winners both did. A moral victory.
Small boy got to do a race at the end too - they were running down one side of a oval race track (think 200m?) but when he got to the finsih line he turned the corner and just kept on running! Did a whole solo lap. I was so proud of my enduroboy. The other parents thought it very entertaining in light of this week's activities.
NGL he probably won't shower or change his pants the whole time he is away but I hope he has a blast.
lol Musky, no he just wanted to get a good space as he was going with several cars worth of friends.
Hope all the poorly sick people are better, bucket by the bed if they are not
BD popped in for a night on his way from Sussex and has now left for Sheffield. I thought he wasn't back until Saturday so booked a curry with the girls for Friday, but he is coming home on Friday after all
Beebs - forward thinking of him really - I guess is theary is, if you aren't expecting to hear, you won't worry when you don't!
Any news on your hardy traveller NGL?
I went to see Take That last night - it was awesome, although my sister and I both agreed that whilst it was fabulous, it wasn't as good as last year when we saw them indoors. It was outside last night and there was a totally different atmosphere - not as intimate, I think would be the way to say it.

Wonder if it would be rude to go to bed before Wickett gets home from Ireland?
Last day at work tomorrow - until mid Sept that is. Woo hoo!

Morning all,
Why does it always seem to be sunny during the week in summer, then at the weekends turns to a pile of cr8p?
