Could I have a copy too please you lovely Lamb person you. <grovel grovel>

By the way, I checked out the girlsruntoo website - it's pretty nifty. I read about this site somewhere else and meant to check it out before but had forgotten all about it - thanx lamb.

I get very attached to my race kit - it's one of the things that puts me of the Nike 10km - I know it's silly but I don't like the idea of racing in one of those big unflattering t-shirts which are never in the right size/length for me and I find chafe around the arms because they're normally always too big. Still, it makes for good photos of everyone in the same stuff.

She - definitely like the idea of getting new kit as rewards. Maybe we'll recognize fellow fat club members at races just by looking for people in flash new kit?

Hi Muppet. I've checked out the girlsruntoo site. It is good. I ran in a charity t-shirt for the London 10k, never again, it was cotton and got soaked and so weighed a ton by the end. Plus it was almost down to my knees and I'm 5' 9"! I rewarded myself with kit for losing weight, but may change to a system incorporating miles.

Does girlsruntoo do good sports bras? (Must check it out myself, I know). Only, I'd love one of those chest-hugging, midriff-baring lycra pieces with matching shorts, but when I try them on in the shops I just look as if I've shoved my boobs in an old carrier bag. Might as well tattoo the NCT logo on my forehead.

And no way is anyone coming near me with a scalpel and a bag of silicone.

    Cheers, V-rap.

Girlsruntoo do do a number of sports bras. I've tried the Berlei ones and the SportJock ones and I've found both to be pretty functional.

I am a 32D and have spent years trying loads of different bras/combination of bras to find something that works - I normally wear a couple at a time which tends to make me look like I have a spare tyre lurking under my chin but it's quite effective. Marks & Spencer do two sorts of sports bras - one of these is really fantastic for support and fit - I can jump up and down and hardly anything moves and I still look as if I have two boobs as opposed to a mono-breast. Result.

I couldn't see the ones I have on the site. I'm a 36C and wear the high impact Berlei which you can adjust the shoulder straps on. I find it really comfortable. I tried an M&S one, but it just didn't work for me. I tend to get mine in department stores where you can try loads of different ones on. Mind you they did think I was a bit mad when I started jumping up and down on the stop and jogging about!

I'm a fan of M&S sports bras too, and wear them nearly all the time, but have an occasional irritating desire to wear something that looks like an item of sportswear instead of having bits of white cotton peeping around the sleeves of my vest. (Vest? Who am I trying to kid? I ran the London Marathon with a wicking t-shirt under my running vest.)

It must be the result of that flirtation with the posh gym, or spending too much time with the gorgeous gays'n'gals down the Bodypump class.

    Cheers, V-rap.

v-rap your posts in here today haven't half made me laugh :) (have been a bit down). I'm the same though - the Mr skits something rotten about my "functional M&S undies" but seriously I tried a vest type sports bra that I got from Allsports - it's called a "shock absorber" by Berlei and it's excellent. I'm a 38D and it stops mine jigging about whilst on the run :)

A good sports site is www.mandmsports.com, not much good for specialist stuff, but for cheap t-shirts, sweaters, trousers etc, well cheaper than most of the over priced sports shops. I got a good bra from girls runto it's an In Sport I also got the Shock Jock I prefer the In Sport, much softer fabric and a better fit, 34A, I could almost go without. Well tonight I weighed myself, 10st 3lb. so worse than I was expecting. Tomorrow will be my first day back training after almost 4 weeks rest due to injury, so hopefully next week I'll have a little minus something... anything will do..
I am exactly 1 stone overweight... it sounds so much .... there goes my Indian meal and beer this weekend... :-(

Hi everyone! On the bra front, try lessbounce.com, fantastic (and I think they have a sale on the mo!) Sportjock supersports is my favourite, keeps everything under control, comes in loads of colours (I've just bought 'cornflower blue'!) and when I'm thin enough, I will be able to run just in that and feel all lught and airy!!

Anyone who wants the pace chart, email me direct as I can't send attachments via the RW forum emailing service, and i will be happy to oblige...

    OK - will do.
And can you guys stop gloating about being blessed with a chest! I'm feeling a little flat this morning.

Thanks, all, for the sports bra recommendations. If I find something that can give me support without the lightly-poached-eggs look, it's my shout for the first round at the next post-race social.

    Cheers, V-rap.

Only runners know the true meaning of an unsupportive sports bra - I didn't know I was born until I started bouncing around on the roads of Cambridgeshire and made the discovery for myself...

I'm bored & very stuffed after huge baguette for lunch! Eek - weigh in this evening!
    Where is everyone?
  • Options
    Yeah, I was wondering that!!!
Just you and me Caketin - so how's it going? I'm feeling bloated as is TOTM and so am not looking forward to weigh-in either... Just went to M&S to try to find some new office clothes for new job, was disgusted with tightness of my usual size - have I put on weight??!! Feeling down now...

I think they are all hiding :)
I'm here though. Just went out and bought myself a mountain bike at lunch time. The had a nice tuna and pasta lunch followed by a banana and an apple.

    Gold star for Nic!
Lamb - don't worry about the clothes thing. Last month people in the office acyually thought I was with child - but it was just water!! I had a few concerned looks!

I hope so! Have been very good all week, 10 mile race at the weekend (1350cals!), ran yesterday, my only sin a nobbly bobbly lolly! Not usre, but TOTM could also account for bloatedness...

What kind of bike did you get? I've got a nice aluminium-frame hybrid with suspension but it hasn't been out on the trails in a year, sob!

Oh god, how embarrassing, 'no, I'm not actually pregnant, I'm just chugga!'. So best to wait a few days before the weigh-in? How long does it take to go? I've never really had this level of bloating before!

Not dreading weigh in too much - cos had good week all in all. Plus trousers are looser than usual - even after the baguette.
going to do a 5/6 miler tonight too, so if it's bad news I'll run it hard!

Weigh yourself after the run for added bonus!!

When am I going to be back to normal??!!

Are you lasses absolutely sure you're not pregnant?

Last time round, it took me ages to realise that I was carrying a passenger because I assumed the amenorrhoea was due to stress and a bit too much exercise (I'd just shifted the lard after my previous pregnancy) and the ravenous appetite likewise. By the time it occurred to me that Tinkerbell might be in my tum, I didn't need to pee on a plastic stick, I was able to pick up her heartbeat with the hand-held ultrasound.

It was the only time I got through the first three months without a twinge of nausea, and, despite all the indiscretions I must have committed before the penny dropped, Tinkerbell is the most gorgeous four-year-old in the world.

It took me three years to shed the last of the weight after having her, though.

    Cheers, V-rap.

Well, as is TOTM, I assume I'm not (well, I hope not as I am but a lamb myself and not ready to be having lambs of my own...)

V-rap, tell me when it's going to go away! Could it be due to taking 2 months of the pill in a row? I have my weigh-in tomorrow!

Lamb - drink lots of water. I also took a couple of herbal diaretics too.
V-rap - absolutley sure!! I've heard you need a man for that sort of thing!

    Hi everyone,
I am a newcomer to this forum and I think its great I will be checking it out most days. In Feb this year I was 16 stone so I started walking, after a small weight loss I started running in May and I have never looked back I am now 13 stone, still another stone to go I think, I am totally hooked on running I run 4 times a week and my longest run is 5 mile at 9 mins a mile. I have had a few lay offs with shin trouble but they are ok now.
I have been on a diet most of my life but I find now that I can eat fairly good and still loose the weight because of the running, by the way I am male and 47 years old.
Good luck to you all with your running and weight loss.

Lamb, panic not about the bloatedness, I always found that when I weighed in the following week that I'd shed an extra pound or two on my normal 1-2.
