It's just not fair you talking about running around Shoreham Beach while I'm injured.
I live on the Beach and regularly run from my house in Harbour Way to the far end of the Beach and then along the coast road to Widewater... then along the coastal path to either Lancing or Worthing Pier. Well, was regular anyway!!!
Maybe we could look at a Shoreham Beach running 'club' - WHEN I'M FIT again!!
Hello HS - so sorry to hear your injuries are still playing up - does make me feel guilty - please hurry up and get better !!! ;D As for running club - I'm sure whan you are in form that you are far too speedy for us - we may be able to help out with slower recuperation runs however!
CC- good run last night - hope your leg feels o.k - and that you're not too nervous about Sunday- and u r enjoying your week off ! suppose I better do my entry for this soon.
Normski thanks for the tips - deffinetly sounds like there are a few of us plodders about!
Is this the beginning of something? Not aware of any other groups/clubs within Shoreham itself, and its definitely big enough to accomodate such a thing. What with FLM entries being confirmed etc, now would be a good time to 'launch' something in the area. Shoreham Beach area would be a good base. Sounds like we have a variety of standards of runner to start with. Any suggestions for next step? Start a thread? Meet for a pint, to discuss?
Thanks Diana , managed to go for short run ,then swam afterwards. Thanks again for run last night ,i hope i didnt hold you up too much. How about you?Have you been out in the rain today?
Both sound like a good starting point to me Normski .
Dancing banana very good. Where did you get it? I'd like something to use with my entries instead of just a blank! Good luck on Sunday, whoever's doing it. I'd come down and be a cheer-leader but (a) my pom-pom's broken and (b) I've got a run of 4 night duties starting tomorrow, so will be in bed! Having broad-band modem delivered today. Wish the blokey would hurry up and get here ; I've got miles to cover! Re. club/group- I'll put a new thread out, and then maybe we can get together for a chat over a lunchtime/evening pint. How does that sound?
CC I like the Bannana too - just hope we are celebrating in similar style come race end on Sunday ! Didn't go running in the rain yesterday - chicken'd out - - going running tonight instead - r u running today ?
Dips thanks for the invite to join you guys - think it's going to be a bit busy down there - hope we can find you !Have you psyched yourself up for dealing with the toursits / dog walkers etc. ? Normski - pint deffinetly sounds good must be cos it's almost the weekend - I'll keep an eye out for your other thread!
Thanks Dips, if i go to the race i will try to meet there. Diana - It must be FREEZING out there tonight, you are very dedicated. Have been persuaded to go to physio tommorow .Of course it feels better already, why does that always happen? Will ring you sat afternoon after my appointment re:lift for sunday, if you still need one. No i havent run, thought it better to stick to swimming until sunday. Normski Banana came from mr cc`s motorbike forum. 4 nights uggh!not nice.. Hope you get lots of days off during the week for that.
Josie, I think there is entry on day even. But best check it out as I am sure it is becoming more popular. I usally avoid it as I get fed up with the seafront but feel a temptation coming on.
Hi,all. How did you go on Sunday,Dips? Not much response to the Shoreham group idea, but still hopeful we can get something started soon. That sea-front is a bit boring on your own. Does anyone know whats at the end of Worthing Sea-front. I'm not too good at sudden turns, so would like a nice little loop to turn back. Did Widewater to the Lido and back last week, and want to go further on Friday.
Not sure which direction you mean at Worthing, but if you carry on past the pier you will get to Goring Gap, Spalshpoint to Goring Gap and back is approximately 6 miles.
Has anyone received any form of confirmation about their entry for this yet? I'm beginning to wonder if my form got lost in the post as I sent it off blummin yonks ago!
And then re-reading the E-mail it was more concerned with the small donation I made and said my race number would be sent out in January - it looks like you get a 'thanks' E-mail if you give them a donation - I hope I have not confused the issue!
Hmmm, well I had been pretty intent on racing the Wokingham Half the week before this, but I'm having second thoughts now and may well have a bash at this instead...
