Albion..thanks. I know but often just wanna go for it, find it frustrating to think 5 months ago I was running (of a kind- was very slow!!) a marathon and now next to nothing. Like you I think i need to enter something to give me something to work towards.
Did a 10k 5 weeks ago, had pain again in hip and knee, but strangely it went away again. Physio could not explain. Not sure if just a warning twinge and just things balancing out again. Weird!!!
Choccy - i know how you feel ! Im just waiting for that day when I suddenly realise I have been running for AGES and havent even realised ! feels like thats such a long way off ......... Want to feel like a gazelle running not an elephant !!!

which Wiltshire run are you thinking off? My Sis in Law comes from Swindon way ? She runs lots of 1/2's mayb I can see if we can both do it ? although I'm nervous doing 10ks !! I'd be a quivering wreck by the day of a 1/2 !! ...
Hi - Jog It In - I was thinking of doing the Neo 1/2 in devizes - it is in May - maybe thinking I should do some more 5 and 10k first ? only done 1 10k !
May is quite a long way off so maybe it'll be ok - must say I was very nervous before my 10k ! you know all those thoughts - bet I wont make it round - bet I'll be last etc ! but it went well and I was pleased with my time considering when I started running I was doing 2 mins run on the treadmill !!!
It would be lovely to meet up with some other people !!

I did my first 10k May only started training for it Jan, I do remember thinking too myself wot am I doing at the 6k mark!! I try to give myself 10ks as a target, Your doing very well, I think I'm the same as you, I only train 4-5k (3miles) outside,I can't afford a gym yet, I do miss the treadmill. I have the Nike 10k tomorrow, I missed the 8k train last week, so I'm worried I'm not going to pace right... I'm so nervous I feel sick !!
Heah Albion! I actually did go for the run although it was typical Scottish weather - gale force winds. Was not the most successful run ever but am glad got out there and did it!
Just 5 x 5mins run 1 min walk. Knee hurt a bit but think it could just be shock to system as all feels good now. Lots of stretching and exercises tonight again!
May even try a small 2 x 5mins tomorrow.
Thanks for 1/2 link clarej, it looks good. I am really a 10k runner but like the challenge of a half. I think 10ks are useful for the build up to the half. I used several at the beginning of the year to improve speed times and reckon that helped towards half as was quicker than I thought on a challenging course.
Albion, I think you should go for the 1/2 and use the 10ks to make sure you are experienced in races and times are going in right direction. Far better to run with others, and races are such fun!!
Hippo- how was the race? Saw it in the back of the magazine today! Clarej- how was yours?

Albion- May is a little far, thinking of also giving Edinburgh half a bash in April. Also have committed self to the Moonwalk in June.

10k are really my target too ! maybe I should do more of them for a while !

Went for a 4 miler today - lovely run - was really chuffed with myself - lovely evening too !
