I would also appreciate a place if there are any spares going. This was going to be my first half marathon, have been training for it for months but hadn't registered which was rather foolish.
Andy/Tom, I am one of the race organisers and we do not allow any changes to names once a person has entered. Therefore, nobody will have a spare place unfortunately.
Treiziste - good going in that heat, you must have been melting :O) and as for what we look like > if we decide upon a pub maybe we can stick a copy of RW on the table or something, and in race gear people wear green ribbons to signify they are forumites
me too Michael, sat here with a glass of white wine!
not got my pack either Stoxy :O( and ouchy for blisters
Mark - you're going well there, Leeds was my first last year, it took me 2hrs for 10 miles and 3hrs for 14 in training but I did 2:21. The week before I did 3 short steady runs, ate lots of pasta and stayed off the booze! as the others say, don't get dragged off too quick with the crowds at the start and remember to enjoy it! and meet us in the pub after......
Think I just got in in time as my cheque has been cashed.
This will be my second half and hopefully I can get a bit nearer to my training run time - planning on zig-zagging a lot more this time rather than running along with people and losing a lot of time.
Really sorry but we are fully booked and no charities have allocated places.
Lee Smythe, I've checked on our system and we haven't received your entry under that spelling of your name. Please give our entries team a call (0113 3950001)and they will double check for you.
Can I ask why we shouldnt be able to transfer numbers provided the correct procedures are followed and it is done before race day?
Last year I had to pull out with an injury. I rang to see if I should send my number back so they could re-allocate it and there was just no leeway at all. How many numbers are wasted because of this? People actually want to take part so why not use the numbers of those who cant for whatever reason? Its hardly the way to encourage sport and events like this in the region.
Sorry to be a thread party pooper but it annoys me.
Got my pack in the post on Sunday. This will be my 2nd half marathon, did the GNR last year in 2.05 and would love to beat that time but we'll see. Went to uni in Leeds and love it there so looking forward to seeing all the old haunts again!
My packs now here, but I agree with Stoxy, it seems an opportunity missed if numbers cannot be reallocated. Charge an Admin fee for reallocation, and then everyone's a winner.
Looked at the chip and thought "How exactly am I going to get that little strap around my ankle?", but on reading the envelope, it's for your shoe laces.
Now to figure out where to park and how early to get there. Probably will be leaving at 6am or thereabouts from Grimsby and should arrive in under 2 hours depending on traffic, roadworks and how much the speed limit may get slightly fractured by
Hello all, i know your not allowed to transferred numbers on this, but does anyone know someone injured and not running? Maybe we can talk about running in their name.
This is my first half marathon and i got a map of the course with my pack but has anyone got and idea of where its uphill/downhill/flat etc. Thanks in advance.
That's right Dave. I've done it the last 2 years and the worst bit is after the first mile; a steady climb for 2 miles and then a steep climb at 3 miles for almost a mile; it's then up and down on the Ring Road but okay; at the last roundabout on the Ring Road at about 7 to 8 miles it's more or less down hill all the way. Good luck all
Its what you might call a bumpy course. Personally I hate the last bit even though its flat. As I run round there all the time I know exactly how far it is to go and it just seems to go on and on and on....
Re pub. I have actually been invited to a party with free beer and food at 12.30pm across the road from the finish!!!!! Now thats lucky!!!
Anyway I am going to enquire whther the pub is also open to the general public and you can all join me!

Birkinshaw - is there any way I can get hold of one of these?

On a separate note are there any RW pacers running?
Hi Rebecca. See you there. We will be arranging a meeting point at some point I assume!!
I dont think there are any pacers Denis though I may be proved wrong!!

New to this forum although been following your progress . . . only just figured out how to reply to a thread! durrr!
Leeds is going to be my first half. I have no PB to go on, so as long as I don't crawl in last i'm in it for the fun! Good luck to you all!
Russ, come on! have you not been listening to Birknshaw? No late entries,no number transfers, you're knackered mate!
First half mara for me since 1985.
Then doing Sheffield the week after.
You wait 22 years then 2 come along at once!
Thanks in advance.
The uphill bits appear to be early/mid race with a long flat finish on the ring road.
Good luck all
