I've got a dilemma... I have ITBS and the Outlaw Half is coming up on Sunday. Does anyone know any quick relief for ITBS? I've searched online but just interested to know peoples experiences. I've just bought a foam roller and an IT band compression strap.
On sunday I was out for a 70 miler but only ended up doing 26 miles due to really bad pain in my knee. I'm really concerned I won't be able to do the Outlaw Half on sunday, I've been looking forward to it as much as my iron distance race in July.
Budgie, you could go and see Becky Schofield from Trianglia. She has a place at the top of hall road.
With my IT band issue during the great barrow challenge. I managed to get through day 2 & 3 riding very gently. A massage i had on the evening after day 3 made the final day a lot more bearable. swimming you'll be fine. Run/ walk if needs be.
Loads of people i know have calf injuries at the minute.
touch wood, i think mine is starting to get better. Didnt hurt as much coming downstairs this morning
Good to hear. I had 2 weeks off running, but turbo'd hard the first week. I couldn't believe that after 1 day I could walk normally first thing. Then after 1 5km run I'm doing the robocop mince straight out of bed. How is this fun?

Mine is improving and i have another physio apointment on Fridays ... so hopefully i'll get the nod for a full on June
Budgie, if all else fails, I got a deep massage on it with one physio holding me down with the other massaging the band; it hurt like hell and the area was bruised after but since then I've had no problems with it.
Its soon come round Nursey resistance to an IM 2013 was futile
got my half ironman next weekend with DTT. Looking forward to the swim & bike. No idea whats going to happen on the run as i havent ran since The Slateman.

70 miles biked today. Very enjoyable, but had to stop and buy a sandwich at 50 miles as I had a mad craving for something savoury.
Pay day on Thursday = chamois cream
I'm not sure thats a good substitute for sarnies
Less fat than mayo
Hope everyone's training is going well.

Evening ladies. Nice riding Nursey
Cheers SD. Any news on the job front?
Not yet.
Sent my CV to a couple of mates who work offshore & uploaded it to an offshore careers website tonight.
Budgie, give it a go. The only thing that really works is rest and rollering.

Use your foam roller as much as you can on it. That will really help. there are also some good stretches you can do on it here http://www.sportsinjuryclinic.net/sport-injuries/knee-pain/iliotibial-band-syndrome/stretching-exercises-itb-syndrome
Ibruprofen also helped good luck matey.
G Day all

Well done Sossige ... bit chilly?
Thanks for the advice SumoSue. I'm lucky enough to have a trainee physio in the house, so I'll ask if he can give me one of those.
Well done SD.
