Alec - take the swimming steady and build gently. I had a separated shoulder and it would flare up every now and then, and I'd have to take weeks off swimming.
New route run today in daylight. I got lost and just at the moment of mad panic I saw something I recognised. Too many footpaths and subways rather than running on a roadside pavement. 14km LSR in the bag though. Just need to pack now for a work trip to the US tomorrow.
Swimming yesterday, I am still crap. Lesson on Wednesday to try and help. A few days off work so going a bit OTT, weights, yoga, spin and track today, body pump, run, swim and who knows what tomorrow. More trips to Ikea planned Cat or are you goi g abroad to get out of it?
Meldy - Good to meet you on Sunday, I've suffered badly from DOMS and the after effects of cramps at the begining of the second run. Was pretty happy with 1:10 for my first attempt at Sprint Duauathlon. I'm not sure that shorter suits my, the pain is more intense even if its shorter lived. Hope you bike has found a nice new home. Great swimming by the way.
Bike leg is a major weakness...will put more effort in this time round. Took me circa 7h30 for IMWales.
Starting up for IM Nice next year. Turbo unpacked, spedomoeter all working now.
Found some new tunes by using iPlayer Radio, this should be pretty cool to keep interest going.
Unfortunately I have had to reaquaint myself with replacing innertube...can't b&*^% believe it, I got a puncture on a turbo...snakeeye puncture. How embarassing.
what's that??...is that laughing in the back of the class...move along, move along
Did a 3 miler last night then a 2 miler before work today, and i've got group exercise sesh tonight at the gym, so I think my legs will be bolloxed tomorrow. They've only just recovered from the weekend!
Tomorrow night i've got my Swim Smooth 1:1 session - looking forward to it but slightly apprehensive because my swim fitness is PANTS at the mo. Fingers crossed he'll not make me swim 400m in a one-er. Or even 100m, lol. If I don't report back - i've drowned
Run, body pump, hot pilates and a swimming lesson today, need to get back to work before I find more random exercise to do. Lee, you'll be fine in a 1:1 as they allow drowning time, expect to be knackered afterwards though. My lesson tonight showed me my problems are legs not arms, well, at least legs are worse than arms and legs are 'sea anchors' so arms are pretty crap too.
Similar session here Gaz. Hotel is in the middle of nowhere. Outside is dark and cold so opted for dreadmill intervals. Needs must. I probably broke some decency laws here in the good 'ole US of A by running topless in the hotel gym.
10 mile run this morning, top and gloves on, I hope you're not in middle America Cat as they might drive you out of Hicksville with that sort of behaviour.
Sounds interesting Lee .. if you dont make it back, can I have your bke ?
Well since you have first dibs, okay!
KateF - I'll prepare for knackeredness then! Eek. I'm supposed to do a 2 mile run today, but i'll do it tomorrow instead of having a rest day from running, as I don't think it'll help my swimming if my legs are tired, lol. I need all the help I can get on the swim-fitness front at the moment!!

Got a 10 miler on Sunday, will use that as a bench mark. target for the immediate is to take just over 2 minutes off my recent 10k time.
After a really hard week last week it took three days for the DOMS to settle but I must say, I'm definitely feeling fitter.

Swim squad last night, I can only dream 6.30 for 400m, I'd be happy with 7-7.20
An hour on the turbo followed by a 10 min run just to get used to that 'where the hell did my legs go' feeling when you come off the bike
RBM, unless it's the Carribean you're bonkers!
swung my sock around with a kettlebell this evening - and I used a heavier weight too so feeling pretty damn good here
Kate not Carribien much nicer than that. Cornwall
