Steven - we're meant to feel tired during mara training... but I know what you mean about the strength sapping fatigue - not nice. Glad to hear it seems to have passed a bit now! Very happy to hear of the improvement in your foot as well. Good long run too - seems like it's all coming together nicely.
Hobie - tantalisingly close and then smashing through the 200 barrier - congratulations Great to hear of your double up day as well, and the emergence of daffs in Wales... very apt!

Did another nice track session on Thursday night - shorter but quicker reps (3 x (2 mins (60 sec)), 3 x (90 sec (90 sec)), 3 x (60 sec (2 mins)), 4 x (30 sec, 30 sec)) - total mileage incl. w/u and c/d was 5.49 miles... no running to and from the track this week as it's a cut back week and I've got a HM race on Sunday.
Just a short leg shake out today in preparation for the Great North West Half Marathon in Blackpool tomorrow. Will be pancake flat running up and down the Promenade... but I'm dreading the strong wind!!! Run today was 3.61 miles.

Had the Great North West Half Marathon this morning in Blackpool. Couldn't believe the weather - bright sunshine and really very warm in the sheltered sections of the course. Rather breezy head wind in the exposed sections though - and surprisingly hilly for running up and down the promenade! We had to clamber up from a very low footpath on the promenade to the main bit of the promenade at road level, then it was distinctly "undulating".
Anyway... that's all the excuses out of the way - but don't need them as I did a nice big PB, by almost 2 mins! 1:41:54.56 (previous PB 1:43:48) My work colleague also PB'ed with 1:23:00.17... don't worry - I won't mention the 17-hundredths of a second to him... MUCH! Total mileage with w/u was 13.71 miles.
Congratulations on the half marathon PB Little Nell, next target has surely got to be the 100 minute mark. Check your time at Boston as the first 20 miles are downhill. You are keeping me on my toes Dubai Runner - despite my tummy trouble I felt I just had to go out for the eighth straight day - can't remember how far back I ever did that (apart from my competitive day decades ago) - did a straggly 15.02 miles in 3:03:37 and felt exhausted compared with normal time of under 2:30. YTD = 428.85 miles Not running tomorrow so you will be catching up soon.

20 miler yesterday morning in just under 3 hours for me before the rain started, felt good & great to see loads of other folk out bright & early.
I just did 4 easy recovery miles yesterday following the parkrun on Saturday, and have a rest day scheduled for today (which will be no bad thing as I have picked up a cold it seems).
Superb running from so many ... I'd be here all day. Special mention to Nell on the new HM PB, top drawer!
I hope those fighting illnesses etc... are all feeling better soon.
My typical (recently anyway) pre-work run this morning, but with a new wee 'tightness' at the top of my left calf ... still there after lunchtime walk, something for me to keep an eye on.

Harmander, Hope you feel better soon, and congratulations on passing the 400 mile mark, although reading your posts, I feel beating Mo is somewhat unlikely, I was lucky to run with Adam Holland (current world record holder for the fastest 10 in 10) and he broke the course record for the route I was running on Thursday by finishing in 2.45, he seems to "glide" instead of run! truly impressive to watch, but good luck with that anyway!
As for me a confirmed time of 3.58.45 for Thursday's 8 lap marathon, in what was testing conditions along the Thames path (Walton on Thames), so very pleased with myself and I do believe I still had a little extra left in the tank.

Urrghhh, Dubai - I could only ever run at 0430 by approaching it from the back side... i.e. staying up through the night and running before I then go to bed! I'm guessing that might have been what you did if you came off a shift? Well done, as your miles mount up chasing Harmander

Unusually for me, I did my lunchtime run wth my work colleague today instead of tomorrow. I have a customer event tomorrow and he's off to Seville for the Man. U. match so we decided to squeeze in a gentle run today. Legs were a bit tired - and the aforementioned calf had a few complaints ... but I soon ran out the kinks. Managed an easy paced 4.86 miles.
Usual club track night tonight. I was soooooo tired - had a customer "Red Carpet" day today where I have to be on the ball and "performing" all the time. Think it went well though. Anyway... dragged myself out for some laps but didn't push it hard as I could still feel Sunday's race in my legs. Total mileage was 4.68 miles.
Some amazing running on here at the moment, being part of this really does inspire and motivate..

Todays run was a lovely steady run round my local park this evening, the chill seems to be getting less each run and felt lovely tonight, really felt good today running 6.6 miles wiyh loads in the tank. Now saving energy for Sunday with a couple of easy 5ks on the run up.
Nell, my 0430 run was setting the alarm early! Did the same the next day and went back to sleep! My plan to run the kilometers for every day is over, on the 19th got to 11.9 and thought I can't be bothered! Was over 30 degrees and I was tired and hungry.

Yesterdays run was fine from a time and distance perspective, unfortunately I do seem to be annoying my left calf, more than I am comfortable with anyway - I've strapped it up and tomorrows plan is for an easy effort, so we'll see if I need to rest it and drop the long one this week.

Banked another 5 miles last night, which left me with a tight foot/ankle so I'm keeping a close eye on that today before making a decision about tonight's run.
Donnie2, In the last year I have run with three local event organisers who specialise in midweek events, all do have weekend events as well.
Phoenix Running, most of the midweek events are Thames path based from Walton on Thames, generally 40 - 60 runners, they have however got a new route near Harlow (I believe Harmander did one there a while ago)
SVN Running, they are based in Kent and most of the runs are around Deal / Folkestone, again generally around the 40 - 50 mark. They do have various other routes and a new one around a cycle path in Gravesend, I believe that chap Harmander was going to do one there too, but the Queen seemed more important!
Finally, Running miles, their events are west London (Hillingdon) / Windsor area and very low key with only 25 - 40 runners, however very well organised and enjoyable, and guess who has run with them as well!
Yes David Charman, it was me again in the last one too. I do believe 'Nice Work' sometimes organise midweek runs too but off road (cycle tracks usually)

Had a late night run after work tonight, was bloody knackered and not feeling it but got it in with preperation for Sundays Brighton Half.
