My training has suffered a serious set back. Saturday I woke with a cold so I decided not to run that day. Sunday I got up at 6.30am feeling ok so at 7am I set off for my long run. The first mile was slow, the second was even slower and after about half an hour my legs felt like lead, I couldn't breath and on top of that I felt sick. I gave up and staggered home after a pathetic five miles. I went back to bed and shivered for 2 hours! I just hope I can fit in a long run every week now until the end of February, otherwise its going to a long and painful experience in Cornwall! Hopefully I am over the worst, went cirucuit training at the gym this morning and felt almost normal (whatever that is). I just need more time!
Wow, No room at the Inn (Hotel),Its booked for a Rugby Team long ago, ( oh well i't would be a bit noisy anyway ) so where now?, it seems to be the only Hotel in Town?, and as this London guy will be coming down by Train, want something in walking distance.
Osy. Unable to personally recommend any where in Redruth, but if you go into GOOGLE and search.bed and breakfast redruth, there appears to be several options available to you. Hope that may be of some assistance to you. RP.
Fraggle, No cut off time. And you will have the company of the 3-45 TO 4 HR marathon runners again for the last couple of miles or so, although they will be going past you by then. RP.
I thought the 20 milers veered off onto a different course at some point-Hence why full-marathoners can't suddenly decide to opt for 20 mile run if they've had enough
Goslo, After the opening 1 mile stretch, all runners embark on a circuit of approximately 12 miles.Just after the start of the second circuit, the 20 mile runners take a "short cut" which then brings them out to a point just after the 23 mile mark for the marathon and therefore just before their 18 mile mark. The marathon runners do the 2 complete circuits. This means that all runners start and finish at the same place to the benefit of all concerned. RP
Does anyone know the route of the marathon, only I am bringing the family with me for the weekend and if I can tell Mr.GP and GP junior's where I will be running they may get out of bed to watch. (Although I suspect they would rather swim in the sea in March than watch me run!.
The cold is no better so I am not running for a few days to try to speed up recovery, if this carrys on I may have to go for the 20.

I'll be doing the 20m option - and we can enter on the day?
Dunno Frags. I think so, because they issue the numbers on the day, but I can't be certain. I still haven't decided on the 20 or 26.2.

They do take entries on the day.

erm, there isn't a cut-off is there? I expect to do the 20M in 3.45-4hrs
(anyone else likely to be that slow?)

Thanks, will just about be able to shuffle to the Train after the Marathon then LOL.
I'm sure there will be one or two of us able to provide lifts to the station after the race (me fr'instance coz I'm staying over an extra night) . . .
. . that is, if you can curl up into a car and then uncurl back out again!!!
I could be runnin' a taxi service then!!
Better fit a turnstile to the car door ;-)
don't disturb me please - I'm in E-bay tryin' to find a taxi-meter ;-)
