The memento will be a T-shirt this year - white with some sort of logo on it. It should be worth a trip round the M25, as this is a lovely time of year for running, and the undulations make the Pilgrim's Way section particularly scenic. There are also some good hostelries around for lunch. I recommend the Black Horse at Thurnham - about the 11-mile point!
EVIL??? I did Hastings for the first time and loved it. Dead legs on the seafront, the weather had changed and I was freezing, but other than that, good. But the hills are great.
I'm looking forward to Maidstone, - I don't know Maidstone at all (bowling alley and multi storey carpark excepted), but the Pilgrims way bit sounds, erm, rustic? Do I take it it's out of town? I haven't had any race details or anything through yet (anyone else?), so no map
JC - the entries secretary is having a holiday before it gets too hectic in the run up to the race, but you should hear something in the next 10 days or so (depending on how many entries he has to process when he gets back).
Hi there! I know a really good B&B in Maidstone, it is about a mile from the start of the race. G. Wheeler B&B, 25 Holland Road, tel. 01622 678606. It is run by a nice lady and it is really clean and well kept, a bit on the pink chintz side though. Not many rooms so you are advised to book early.
Tried to get entry form / access to Maidstone Harriers website but this does not seem to be working. Tried both through link and externally, is this just me or are others having difficulty?
Considered on-line entry but this is more expensive than on the day entry!
JC thanks, tried again but no access, looks like company firewall is working too well or something. It will have to be the universal entry form, will see you there!
Dave Cox, I have entered the race and it brought back memories of doing the Maidstone marathon in 1984. Any chance that anyone you know would have the race results? It was my first foray into marathon running, the car broke down on the way, I started 20 mins after everyone else, tried to catch up and the rest is a complete and utter blur..... Anyway I am looking forward to this half.
Think it's about time we had a list. Apologies if I've missed anyone off.

Watched the Bexhill 10K today - gutted to not be racing, (looking after kids), but oh so inspired. How I LOVE THE FEELING YOU GET AFTER A RACE!!!!! LET ME AT IT!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi y'all- first time at maidstone, only second half marathon (first was brighton). Just wondering what I can expect in the last couple of miles, apart from the obvious pain I.e. is the course flat towards the end, downhill/ up??
i was actually really pleased with my time at PW, even tho it was so hot - it was the second race i'd ever entered (after the folkestone 10 miler a week and a half earlier), so enthusiasm got me through. i'm now a jaded runner (11 races under my belt) and don't think i'll beat my PW time.
bring on the undulations (as hills seems to be know around here) anyway
Lozzer, obviously you don't mind the heat then, my body just said NO! Hills / undulations on the other hand tend to keep me occupied and improve my times, strange but true in my case! See you there!

Thanks for the lunch tip Andrew, duly noted....
Would a half six days before Beachy Head marathon be completely loopy?
Considered on-line entry but this is more expensive than on the day entry!
Anyone had race numbers through yet?
see you there!

Lozzer, snap! must be cooler than paddock wood although a little hillier!
A PB should be achievable for me this time round. (well it won't be hard after PW!)
