BR I saw her.- she was totally above and beyond the call of duty.
Bob I agree with the others that ( apart from the car parking).- it was a beautifully smooth event - I think you would attract more pb chasers if you could get rid of the twists and turns on the course.- I didn't actually find the hills too bad just the 90 degree (and more) changes of direction.
Everything was fine stop worrying. The race went like a dream as far as I was concerned. Marshals were brill and very supportive. I ran to my body not the tick tock. Best of luck for next year
I have changed chip times with the guy I had a sprint finish with. Damn it though. I was 3 seconds from breaking 3.20 rather than the 6 seconds I originally thought. Even more sickening.
Due to an oversight, the marathon medals were not engraved,we apologise for this and realise how important this is to you. If any one would like theirs engraving, please send it to us with a stamped, self addressed envelope and we will return it engraved. Send to:-LOROS Fundraising, Groby Road, Leicester, LE3 9QE.
Shades has summed up everything I would have wanted to say about the Leicester Mara Fantasic event Bob, look forward to next year.
Birmingham Owl - Nice comment, I agree.
Rosa - I'm not sure how I managed to keep going, as I have quite a bad problem with my hamstring. Well, the saying goes - where there's no sense, there's no feeling...say no more!
Great event. Rather more undulating than expected, but otherwise everything couldn't have gone more smoothly.
Not sure I'll do the full marathon again, but that has no reflection on the event and everything to do with "so many marathons, so little time". I'd definitely do the half.
And in the end all I wanted was a GFA/BQ time, and I got it
Great event Bob! I think the marshalls did a great job - the poor person who looked like they were about to be assaulted by a complete N*B of a motorist on the Traffic Island before the first real updulate was brill - I hope someone had that idiot arrested - because it was completely unnecesasary.
I think the touch of having gels available was genuis (especially as High5's are kind to me) - having them 100m or so before the water stations so they can be taken and then washed down would make sense to me.
I always take my own ones just before the water station for this reason - they need diluting!!
Nice medal too!! I'll also not be sending mine back for engraving - keep the money, and make sure LOROS gets as much as it can!
I just saw it as an excuse to stop elbee! I took my gel, stood still opened it, consumed it then drank my water, had a stretch and ran on or more accuratly waddled on!!
i'm still waiting for my photo to appear, seems as though another 100 or so get added each day. i'm waiting for one more time slot to become available and then i should pop up
I thought the race was fantastically organised even if slightly less flat then hoping!! 11 months 364 days since my first marathon I have run 3:32 to 3:24 and now 3:11 so over the moon even if looking slightly greyer in the photo's, running seems to age me!!
Have just seen revised chips times, are these the final results or may there be some more changes. Not happy that my time went from 3hr49mins to 3hr50mins, thats 30secs!!! I've been telling everyone 49, now i'll have to admit to how slow i was!!! Bloody marathons if only they weren't so long!!

... that person who sprinted away at the end to finish ahead of me was actually 1 minute 45 seconds slower than me

Well done - overall it went very well. (maybe leave out the cobbles?? )
