Just wanted to pop in to say good luck to whoever has gotten it (I'm assuming at this stage that even though it's not up here, the lucky people have been informed), and good luck generally to anybody doing FLM.
Looks like a worthy bunch to me! Congratulations all four of you, and enjoy your training.
To everyone else (expecially newcomers) -- This site's still a great resource for all of us. The training plans for all levels are there for us to download. The forum is a wonderful place to receive advice, motivation and encouragement from your peers as well as the expert articles. And you can always blog your experiences over on Fetch!
Thanks for the good wishes, everyone (especially those who nominated and voted for me) - ooooerrr! a bit scared .... excited ... nervous ..... but determined ...... speak to you all later!
great. why not come up to hyde park for our brand new (starting in jan 2008) tuesday night runs? open to all! the best marathon training in the world. guaranteed.
Congratulations to all 4 of you, you lucky beggars!!!
I felt today like I did the weekend of the very first lottery, when I had convinced myself that God loves a trier, and so the 6 numbers were mine. Even more so when the first 2 were mine! Ah well, the home made plan will have to suffice, but I did think on this mornings 10 miler about how I would feel with the pressure of expectation if I did get the Golden Ticket!!
Little Stoker.. your 'pitch' was one of the best and your fan club was strongly in evidence, sorry to see that you missed out.
Best of luck to all of you who have a cherished place. If any of you need any tips about the training or FLM generally please ask.
For those of you who don't know me, I have been on the forum since the very early old old format days - nearly as long as Hipps {O: However I tend to live a hermit like existence on the daily training thread, occasionally popping over to the FLM & Events sections. I live in Tadcaster, North Yorkshire which is famous only for having 3 breweries, lots of pubs and very cheap beer!
