Vixx - one of my colleagues has run the race a few times and every time he said he decided to quit halfway! (I`m trying not to think about that as an option). Might run 12-14 with eyes closed!
Wet this morning in Sheff, a few junctions North of Notts. Hope it`s better tomorrow, but not hot. Today I shall mostly be eating and drinking!
A lot better today Vixx, Just done a couple of miles easy, going for a quick massage this afternoon. Kits already laid out on table, drinks mixed up, safety pins attached to top.
Hey guys, I'm doing the half. I live about 20mins drive from the City Centre and today is a LOVELY day. I'm in shorts and a t-shirt! I do hope it's cooler tomorrow, I hate running when it's too hot!!
Didn't know you could camp there. Can you do it usually?
Camped there a few times. Open all year round not a bad little site.

How is everyone feeling?
Calf still playing up and the cack support crew all down south at a festival so going to take it very easy tomorrow thinking 10/11 minute miles for the first half and then see how it feels after we all go over the bridge.Did manage another 15 miler last friday but was limping a far bit after.
Dad had a mini stroke this morning so ended up not going to leeds and going out in a second to get him some grapes so at least not beening working to hard today.
Newbies top tips. the baggage area has different tables in it with each number so don't que by the side of the marque que by the table.
A lot of folks move like sh*t of a shovel at the start line. Don't follow them unless you know you can keep up, you will pass a lot of them going round. It's a school boy error.
Drink plenty of liquids today and take on board some in the morning. If you can get a nice cup of tea/coffee/red bull the caffeine in it will help your muscles and your lungs. Ibuprofen works. Whatever you do don't eat something new today. If your normal diet is chips eat chips. but some lovely carb loading wouldn't go a miss. Personally I'm going to eat more pasta tonight than a small roman villa.
Enjoy it or I will start singing sea shanties at you lot. I've almost got my voice back after the other week and I'm willing to use it.
blimey its a bit windy here not fancying the run around the water sports centre if its like this. I HATE THE WIND (p.s. camping is 8 quid a night, a bit steep but free showers).

so true, one of the ways I keep myself entertained for the first couple of miles is working out when the ones that have gone of too fast will begin to grind to a holt. cruel but fun
