Worry not Brave face although I have done quite a few marathons and usually time consistent. I'm a slow old bear who will probably be running in the shadow of the tin man so you wont be alone.
BRACEFACE - dont panic there will be plenty out on the course still running, remember the 1/2 starts 2hrs after us and there will be plenty who will finish after 2hrs so chill and enjoy the gruelling. energy sapping 26.2miles!
Braveface - if it's any help i've entered and my only aim is to beat 5 hours and hopefully not be last - did 4.52 in Iceland at end of August so if i can beat that i'm happy..
just lazyness as not looked it up and im not used to having to pick up numbers and chips does anyone know where the golf club is for the expo race pack collection. Im at work sat so possibly wonrt get down in time to search about for the club and get registered before 8 and my other half who has to hang around while I run will be less than pleased if we have to leave the b&b at the crack of dawn sunday to get to the golf club then find the marathon start.
Hi samruns, yes, the Golf club, which is where you pick up the race packs on the Saturday is 1 mile from Tenby in a village called Penally, if you are driving from Tenby you will see Kiln Park on your left hand side, you turn right at Kiln Park taking you towards Penally then you take the first right again and you will find Trefloyne Golf Club. On the race day itself though the race packs are collected from Tenby Rugby Club which isn't far from the start line, it is in Frog Street. 5 minute walk to the start.
This looks like its going to be a brilliant event..........have a good one all...........I would have been there but already booked up for that weekend.
Ahhhhh nooooo bionic border terrier that's rough, try not to worry though you've still enough time to shake it.
Your only option now is to rest, wrap up warm, dose up on as much medicine as you can stomach & eat plenty to fight it off. Hope you make it to the start line
Can't wait for this now! I've had no race pack...just an email...do i need to bring anything along on the day or just show up and give my name and address!? thanks amy x
I'm down on Fri morning 8iron, can i register at the expo on Fri or do i need to wait until Sat to register for the marathon? No worries either way, but just wondered.
Just a quick question, it says on the email that there are two finishes the half marathon runners can take? regardless of which finish is taken do they both still add to the 13.1 miles?
matt - yes you can register for the marathon on friday from 12 at Trefloyne. IM Wales Press launch at 12 too at the same place!!
Peacey - technically you are right but its the same finish you just take a different route at the end. This wil be explained at race briefing and its well signposted. But here is how it is: FUN OR DONE are the 2 options. Basically as the marathon runners run around castle hill, which is stunning and takes in the lifeboat, bandstand etc we did not want the half runners to miss out. So if you are not running for a time and have something left you can set off around castle hill. If you are DONE so to speak you simply cross the finish line for your 13.1 miles and official time.
8iron, ignore my post above, can see from your response to peacey that the finish is the same place as marathon runners in Tudor Square! sorry, blind as a bat
Morning 8iron, yeah me & my family will be making a weekend of it. My parents have got a flat in Croft Court, so not far to walk to the start line!
I'm travelling down on Friday morning, will pop into the golf club either Fri or Sat afternoon to collect number & chip. I've not had a race pack yet, not sure if there's any info in there i'll need that's not already covered on the site though?
Really sorry to hear about your injury Laurie, get well soon
BBT - I think 8iron said there are mile markers, as for the route I think we go through Manobier or the way out. Its going to be a tough and anyone who finishes in under 4hrs will have do really well. Personally I'm just looking to finish and learn for my next marathon and most importantly I am looking forward to a beer after no having a drop for nearly 6wks.

Great News that the Scarlets will be at the finish line, that has absolutely made my day.
Da iawn iawn 8iron!
Dr S.
Hilly 10 miles today. Looking forward to race now.
Just got off phone to family who live in Pembroke and everybody down there is excited about the event.
3:15 my target time allowing for those hills. Now just got to try and take it easy this week.

8iron, where is the official 13.1 finish line for the half marathon?

Talk about a small world!
I manage Croft Court!
8iron what are the figures at the moment for both the 1/2 and full. Not long left now people.
Wow Long range forcast says sunny spells light northerly wind and 14deg. Even runners can't moan about that........fingers crossed.
Anybody know which way round the course goes? Manorbier/FreshEast on way out or way back?
Are there going to be mile markers along the route?
