Yes the check points are good arn't they - I managed to resist until I got to the one at the seven sisters where the lifeguards were and I grabbed a load of mars bar bites!!
Claire ...Its ok and dont bother with the Gym tomorrow either!! Its carb loading time!! Oh and thinking positive and not thinking of the hills of course
I have noticed that there are four check points on the route, are these the only water stations, and if so should I be carrying my own water/drinks. I have noticed in some photos that some people have camelback whilst other have nothing.
Whats the opinion of regular Beachy runners, bearing in mind this is going to take me over the 5 hour mark to finish.
It rained here yesterday, but sunny today, I reckon despite the dry spell we've had it'll be muddy through the woods - the rest will be fine.
Our first marshalling point is before the first checkpoint after you've come down off Windover Hill, we will have jaffa cakes and jelly babies again (reminds me I need to get more we ran out last year) so do come and say hello. Our second stint is at the top of the final descent to the finish - will understand if you can no longer say hello by then

There will be big trouble if you don't save me any this year!
TG...I always take my own drink but mainly because it is 8 miles to the first checkpoint which is quite a long way to go without anything.....especially when the marshalls at the top of Windover have run out of JBs!
I am hoping my support team(wife and kids) will be driving to various point on the route so might have some drinks sorted by them as well, but with previous marathons they have managed to completly miss me.
I don't have a camel back but do have a bottle belt thingy so that will have to do.
Last year I managed with a small belt and my gels, then just manage with the stations...everyone is different, but I just don't like carrying too much.
TG - I don't think you need to take a c'bak - I've done it with (1st time) and realised that it's not really necessary as the CPs are well spaced. if it was hot - I would think again - but that doesn't like it will be the case this weekend.
I will take some gels though as I find too much undigested solid stuff can give me some grief in the latter stages.
I use my Camelbak mostly because I find it easier to drink from than a bottle and less hassle with my hand than a bottle too but it is personal preference
FB & Meldy...you going to be there? Me too will be great to meet you...if I can see you through the rain
Weather not looking good, forcast today for Saturday...Heavy rain, 31mph SSW winds, gusts of 50mph, eeek! My Dad is coming down to watch me, feel more sorry for him!
I did another marathon last weekend (nice flat one in lincolnshire) so hope my legs hold out, think i'm going to be digging deep for this one. The weather adds to the experience though doesnt it....

Me and Mrs Calamity are running this for the charity WRAS (East Sussex Wildlife ambulance service)
last year was my first year and the weather was terrible, anything is better than the weather last year.
not sure, to do one last 10k run tonight or tomorrow before the event.
when people told me that you must do Beachy head they forgot to mention all the things mentioned on this thread
can we have more talk of the cake and chocolate please and less about the hills and the weather and the mud
CC - I'm going for a run with the club tonight, an easy 10k I hope...then a light session in the gym tomorrow, then that's me done!
Don't forget the Hot X Buns!!
Think I may need to dig out some waterproofs for this weekend....
Oh no Benyo - you caught me out...don't tell the FLM's!!
any update on conditions? - freezing in Kent this morning - dont fancy running over frozen muddy ridges
at least it looks like the rain will arrive late in the day
Right Stupid question coming up

8 miles until first drink stop - that's useful to know. I'll take my own drink too.
I'll be ready for Mars bars pre-Sisters (if there're any left) and someone mentioned earlier hot soup and rolls at some point ... ?
EDIT: Just read back a page - I'd forgotten about the hot cross buns. Think I'll just eat my way around the course.
I will take some gels though as I find too much undigested solid stuff can give me some grief in the latter stages.
