Tonys loop recovery run for me! needed an easy one. Have you done any of the Cardiff 5k park runs? we are going up on Saturday. Michelle is going to give it a go.It will be her first race!
FL - I certainly have the confidence now that i can do it, after Abingdon. But a good few months of hard training will just reinforce that confidence even more for me.
Would never have got this far if it werent for the 'Famous Five'
HWD - Hi mate, you're definitely sub 3 hours already......hope we can get some more long runs in once we start marathon training. We'll have to expand the famous 5 to famous 6 soon! Training together makes us all faster!
FL - Yep, did some speedwork along the front with Bryn, I was going to say it's a lot easier with company, but it still hurts! No pain = no gain though! I added some extra miles on afterwards by taking a long route home.
Are you doing the Llanelli Half next year? It seems to get more expensive every year - its up to about £25 now! Trouble is that its not run by a club and they are miking it for all the cash they can get....I don't mind paying £10-£15 for a well organised race, and more for races like London - but Llanelli £25?!?
FF, yes will be doing Llanelli ( yes it is a rip off!!! and he tucked us up fro the team in the 10k!!!!) We are also doing Tregaron half and Forest of dean. All training for London
Totally agree about Rhayader but my coach has a change of plan this year. And after listening to you all and getting the time I had in Abo I'm going to put extra faith in you all this time.
Would love to get sub 1 hour but the best I have so far is 67:55 so will be a bridge too far this time I think!! but never say never
FL i will give you a ring tomorrow about doing some speedwork when you get home from work .i am down to do 400m fast 100m jog 200m fast 100m jog x 10 about 8k but have not got to do that one but no 5x2k
no don;t like 2k they don;t feel like speedwork more like helli think speedwork should be from 200m to 1mile any more and its a bit of a tempo run then.
having a rest day today lot of beer last night but i did get 65miles in last week
FM - You drinking lots of beer! Surely not.......!!! I've got a nasty wine habit myself....it's all part of my five a day, well it does originate from grapes.
I find all intervals unpleasant. Trouble is, it's the only way to get speedy in races.
65 miles is good......
Are you doing the MT10 at the weekend? If so, I'll see you there.
FM, sorry mate but I did my speedwork with Brynster tonight!!! He did text you to come with us. I will be running tomorrow but not sure where and how far.
Brynster, thanks for the session tonight mate. Much better with company.
Comments
Hi mate, welcome. Good run tonight all be it a bit windy the bath was full of sand when I got out and my eyes are still full of it!
Still had a half decent run, managed 32:46 for the loop. Last year I was struggling to hit 34.
FF, I hear from Bryn that you had a good session tonight?
FL - I certainly have the confidence now that i can do it, after Abingdon. But a good few months of hard training will just reinforce that confidence even more for me.

Went well, 17:44. But can and will do better! Lost it in the second mile and couldn't pull it back in time!!!
Michelle did 29:53 and really enjoyed. Will work her up slowly to the marathon so may be in the spring.
Afternoon all
Great run this morning. Nice to get off road for a bit.
Evening coach, how goes it?
We did the Fourth pond run with added sleepers to make it 11.30mile.
Just been looking at the forest of dean half. looks good, are we going for it?
I was trying for 4 @ 5:30 - the head said yes but the body had a different idea! The other 6 miles were a lot slower.
Sorry I missed the run this morning. Went out with the missus last night as it was her birthday and left the phone in the drawer until this morning.
I'm sure the Forest of Dean Half always clashes with another local race? Rhayader 20 mile is the week before I think?
Looking forward to next week's MT10 - always enjoy that one!
We are giving the Rhayader 20 a miss as it takes too much out of us when training for London. So that's the idea behind the Halves.
Wish your Missus a very happy birthday from all of us here.
Also looking forward to the MT10, should be fun. Is there a team prize this year?
Rhayader 20 is a classic!! Same as doing a long run, but slightly quicker!!
Not sure about the team prize in the MT10 - but should be? Sub 1 hour for you then??
Are you doing the pudding run?
Totally agree about Rhayader but my coach has a change of plan this year. And after listening to you all and getting the time I had in Abo I'm going to put extra faith in you all this time.
