good running today guys, you are both more committed that i am, 10 tempo and a mega 18 tomorrow, i think i have forgotten how crazy you have to be when marathon training.
my run was good today, felt good at 6mm, finished half marathon in 1.19.55, a modest 6.06 pace.
FL, i am going to the cinema tonight, so not going to be back until late, i will probably as a result not be able to get up early. I will still go out on the road bike and do 20+ give the running legs a rest
I am only doing 2 speed sessions next week, probably a 6 mile tempo and a sub 6 ten miler 10 miler, feel free to join me on either
FF, thanks for dragging me along mate. Really appreciate it now its over. You got some good splits there too. Looks like I need to close that gap down if I'm going to get the goal!
Bryn, Thanks mate. Now I'm really scared
Thanks guys, would be no where near where I am now if it weren't for you all Long way to go yet though.
"Long way to go yet though" - nah, you're about there - just believe in your own ability, all you need is literally a few extra seconds per mile which you can do. You've 9 weeks or so to get there - no problem you'll do it.
I think the key as I said yesterday is to be able reasonably comfortably churn out 6 min miles, and then on the day of the race the adrenalin and all the training you've done will do the rest and you'll do it. Make it your mission to achieve this is in a tempo run for 10 miles every week.
To achieve the time I want to do, I need to be sub 6 min miles all the way around.......not sure how I'm going to do that, my Cardiff mile splits for the half were 5:40 average, no way I could keep that going for another 13 miles though!

Thanks mate, I'll work hard on that. Think if I can shift some weight it will help a lot.
As for you doing sub 6m/m I don't think you will have much problem at all. I think we are both mentally strong enough to achieve what we want.
Or are we just Mental
Bryn, sounds like a plan. As for Saturday, I'm trying to get more of the club to do the Fabians way 10 tempo.
FF, Abingdon is also a British Masters champs race.
That was the Welsh Masters not British...? I've never joined any masters association?!.....crikey don't tell Dewi he'll be even more annoyed....
Dewi
FF, where did you dig that pic up from?that was a while back. I'm still in touch with Dewi was talking to him on the new year.
If you are in the Welsh your in the British. I'll try for the V40 and you can go for the old gits.
Bryn - There's this one as well......that's the trouble with the internet, things live on forever!
Torch
FF, are you going on the trip to London?
No running for me tonight! I didnt get home til 7:30 had a nightmare in work!!!!
Bryn, hope the house is ok now mate.
