Please, people, tell me to get my arse in gear and DO SOME WORK tomorrow.
I seem to have had a rest weekend plus a few extra rest days, and I have a stag do next weekend so that will be another weekend of no training, o well I will have to knuckle down the week after
I watched 150 people swim 10k down the Thames (I was time keeper) - does that count as training?? The lead group did the LAST 1500m in 17mins!! Amazing swimming!!
I felt so crap after my last post (having not done any training today) that I decided to bike into town for a couple of bits & pieces. I know I should just let it go when training doesn't go to plan, but it was bugging me.
So I got all kitted up for the bike and did my usual quick tyre check. The front was a bit soft, so I popped the pump on and soon had it rock 'ard. Took the pump off. Almighty hisssssssssss. Flat tyre. No valve head. Not stuck in the pump. Gone, vanished, nowhere to be seen.
Big sweary-fest.
So I am now going in the car. And it's just started raining anyway, so obviously bike was not meant to be.

I don't think I did a single 750m lap tonight in less than 17 minutes.
Awesome marshalling of the dolphins there Raf, Cat that still sounds like good swimming
Spoons great mileage there, MELDS bloody amazing mileage there! WOW
Nurse it just wasn't meant to be, we all have days like that... Tomorrows another day (just don't take another rest day!) if the bike is broke then run or swim

Lol, i nearly crash every time i have to look over my shoulder. When i was a kid i could ride for miles with no hands on the handlebars too. Try that now & it's in the hedge we go.
I will record the aero bar journey on my blog i think.
30 minute run done this morning. I run round this lake near me, never known it to be so peacefull. Lovely.

I struggle looking over my shoulder too. I was thinking about getting loads of Mod style mirrors fitted.....
if you ride faster than everyone else, there's no need to look over your shoulder
First time I went out on my TT I hated it - felt really uncomfortable. Took a couple of hours before I got use to it - now love it, feel completely at home down on the bars!
Buzzing tonight, knocked 3 minutes off my open water swim. 1600m in 45 min. Leaves me 25 minutes spare for knocking out that exta 300m at the half IM. Feel like i could go quicker as well.
Was mainly breastroke though, bloody cold in the water tonight.
My swim sessions are increasing to 3 a week now so FC should improve a bit quicker.
A bit late to the aero bar party but treat them like a walk/run running strategy at first. Try to ride in them for say 2 minutes, then sit up for 1 minute. Then as you get better, extend the in-bar time, lessen the out of them time.

If i had the funds i would certainly travel to warmer climates.
Rest day for me, although daughter wants to try geocaching so we will be out for a walk
Good work, Spoons.
I, on the other hand, have had a rest day.
Yes - another one

Not sure if i'll get them before this weekends 100 miler though.
Are they easy to get use too? Should imagine i'll be a bit wobbly.
Yes dear
SD .. they do take some getting used to but they make damn good clothes hangers
Morning Nursey!
Morning Meldy.
Planning on taking the wolf for a run this afternoon. Just as well I like running in the rain.
SD, you'll need to let me know how you get on with the aero bars. I'm keen to try them too. (Any excuse to buy more stuff!)
Nice 85 Melds.
I'm wobbly enough on the bike without aero bars.....
Me too, Spoons. Probably trying to walk before I can run. But, oh, I do so love shiny, shiny new stuff. Kit magpie

This is the area Lewis & I did that 10k, although you didnt run right round the broad.
It's also where i do the OWS. Very handy having it on my doorstep.
Trip to Quidenham childrens hospice, my kind hearted daughter has decided to give all her old toys & games to them. She does make me proud
I struggle looking over my shoulder too. I was thinking about getting loads of Mod style mirrors fitted.....
