Well done to everyone at the half. Congrats on the PB Colourin.
Nam - well done on the bike ride, don't get hung up on the speed at this point, its time spent in the saddle that counts - building endurance, training your legs to cycle, training your arse to sit there etc...
Malt loaf is the food of the goods, I never go on a long bike ride without it. I also make sure I have at least one bottle of SIS on the bike, and alternate this with water to stop the bonk from arriving.
I drank plenty of flat coke on the running leg, it helps, and like Barley i ttry to break the marathon down into managable chunks - at IMCH there will probably be aid stations at every mile so you can break it down to 26 x 1 mile, or 8 and a bit 5ks or something similar. And sod the running, if you have the time employ a walk/run strategy - it works really well for many people. Ironmin is an expert at it.
Mrs SA your doing the Congleton Half next week. I'm thinking of doing that for my training for Amsterdam Half. If you see a tall blond girl in an MS vest say hi because it's me!
Yay. I'm just thinking about it at the moment. There will be Mr Double 0, the boy wonder (brother) and 2 of my friends. I think it would be a good idea to run it. It'll be the last long run before Amsterdam and I've only doen 10 miles so far.
Just haven't got the kit yet. I didn't want to order it until I had the thinky, just waiting for pay day too. How can I wear pirate kit with out the thinky? It's just how it works for me.
That's why I don't know if I'm doing the Congleton Half. I love hills but the middlewood way is falt and might be a better idea for my first 13miler. There will be a 13 miler at the weekend I just don't know where yet!
You know that I've been drunk a thousand times, and these should be the best days of my life, Life, it's not what I thought it was. Damn blaaaast, look at my paaaast, ripping up my feet over broken glass. Oh wooow, look at me nooow, I'm building up my problems to the size of a cooooow.
oooooo ooooo ooo ooohhhhh....
Sorry just thinking back who was it that didn't know size of a cow the other week? and well done for Macc, boy and girls
