hey Nearly Headless Kwilter. Glad to hear all is well. I had 3.5 of my parathyroids removed about a decade ago after a sudden but horrible onset of illness. Because of an annoying funky set of genetics, it's likely mine will recur at some point too. Damnit.
Update from yesterday. Had bloods back and need to adjust my dose. 175 is too low, 200 is too high. The tablets come in 100, 50 and 25 mcg. Options are snap a 25mcg in half and add it to the 175 every day, alternate between 175 and 200 every day or have 4 days on 175 and 3 on 200...which is what I'm going for. Repeat bloods in 2 months to see how I'm going.
The scar is fading gradually, can't believe it's 4 months on Friday since my last op. I feel great, energy levels back to normal, and I've weaned myself off the anti depressants. My biggest issue now is the stiffness and lack of movement in my right arm. Referred back to physio, who poked it (like a sports massage on my shoulder...ouch!) and gave me another set of exercises to do. I'm back to see him on Thursday for more massage. I can currently get it to about 45* to the side and 120* in front without pain or limited movement. Hope to improve this in the next few weeks.
6 months today since the last operation. I've had another blood test which was even lower than before, I've got close to 90% movement in my arm and shoulder, but still got residual weakness and muscle wasting. I'm hoping as I'm now more active this will improve. Had another routine blood test yesterday to monitor TSH levels for medication dose.
Bloods are still coming back clear for the tumour marker, I've had my thyroxine dose adjusted and feel loads better for a sliightly lower dose. Full range of movement in my right arm and shoulder.
Went out for my first plod in nearly 2 years this morning.
Boinging again...back from consultant with another "all clear".
3 years last week since my thyroidectomy, and it'll be 2 years in March since the neck dissection. I'm back to feeling as well as I did before my diagnosis, and apart from not running due to arthritis, I'm as fit as I ever was.
Great news Kwilter! except of course about the arthritis, I've an appointment for an arthroscopy on my left hip and orders not to run, so I sympathize.

Another quick update, for those who haven't read it already on another thread, I had a letter outlining the treatment I've had & all the results.
The final sentence is "There is therefore currently no evidence of remaining thyroid cancer"
WOOHOOO!! Fantastic news Kwilter, congratulations!!
And keeping my fingers crossed that it works out ok for you Beri-chan xx
