I could do the airport to parked at the Lowry in 20 minutes leaving the airport about 5:15. And my driving didn't scare Cake too much on Saturday night
I’ve been in some near miss’s in cars and so a little sh*t scared of carp drivers now. I can confirm that Dave is a good one.
Royles in Wilmslow have just opened a new shop to cover swimming and running (next door to Starbucks) They have an endless pool where you can try wetsuits out and they take a range to Salford
Useful to know, Dave - thanks. It will have to wait until later this summer for me though. However, I am off to pick up my new road bike this evening *bounce bounce*
And so it begins! All the advice is good but if you want I can take you to shops in Sheffield that have kit you will need even if you don’t want to buy it from them worth understanding what it is? Most of the blokes on this thread are in or as far from Manchester as me so worth thinking about for taking your bike out or any help.
Frodo and SD I agree with Cake, the bike can be really expensive and you should get lots of advice from people before you decide what you want to do, even for small components.
As I said earlier, my opinion is just that, mine and other people will have different ideas and experiences. I have ridden bikes all my life but only started Road cycling about 4 years ago, a lot of the good bike shop mechanics have been involved in road cycling for years, are members of clubs and do regular Time Trials, Sportives etc so will have a lot more knowledge than most.

Frodo, my bike is a Specialized Dolce Comp and has only been ridden 5 times.
He's not for sale though.
And it genuinely seems to have been barely used
Nah, I'm gonna stick with arrangement A, however, feel free to try and convince him otherwise should you ever meet
Short fat bloke from Widnes.....
