Great Race at ITU Triathlon at Hyde Park my first race in Pirate kit, I definitely looked the part!
So Olympic distance done with a great swim sub 27 mins and Bike so next stop is Wimbleball 70.3 sure will see some fellow Pirates at that event and cannot wait.
did an ironman on sunday and it was sunny.had a great day and time......even splits in general and learnt a lot after suffering half way through the run.......
loved my time on the bike despite the hills......
today wanted to throw my bike away............so wet, windy and cold that even now I am still cold to the core......bailed on the bike half way through.can't remember being so cold.....only time i wasn't cold for 2 and a half hours was the 3 mile ride up the mountain side when we were sheltered from the wind and warmed up a little as we had a steep 3 mile climb in the easiest gear possible
I actually enjoyed a long ride in the rain Seren, it's 90 mins plodding up and down the pool or a turbo session whilst the kids are in bed that's rotting my brain.
Gentle 2k swim last night and 8 mile run this morning. Going to rest up now for Bala on Sunday. Really looking forward to it, first triathlon in UK,first triathlon as a Pirate and first real test of fitness before Bolton. Hopefully I'll still be smiling Sunday evening!
Open water swim..... broke the 30 min/mile mark for the first time tonight..... hoorah!
I'll settle for 30minutes/mile towards the end of the marathon
hehe.
IronBlue - enjoy the day, I would have been another City fan at Bala too but chose not to do it and do 2 Olys instead good luck
3750m OW swim last night, I'm getting there with my sighting technique. I like to mix the side I breathe up as well, it aches too much sighting/breathing to the same side for that long. Luckily last night at Holmes Chapel the sun was on one side of the loop so I just breathed to the opposite depending which way I was going.
Just under 19 mile run this morning, glorious day for it. Easier day tomorrow which shouldn't be hard to accept with all the storms forecast.
Sounds like everyone has been doing some great training! Easy week for me, post Outlaw half (race report on Outlaw Half 2014 thread if anyone is remotely interested!) but back on it this weekend, OW swim followed by a run tomorrow morning and then 4 hours on the bike on Sunday.
Hayfever has really started up this week and my tablets are making me feel knackered! Time to try something else methinks!
Recovery from the Coniston Tri complete with a good strong 20 miles on the bike this morning and 2.5k in the pool this evening all felt very effortless, got a 3 hour ish run from Liskeard into Plymouth planned for tomorrow with a mile swim to cooldown, shower then meet Mrs RBM and daughter for their chosen endurance event .....shopping

What's not to love Graeme?!
Full distance open water swim tonight with the local tri club. I wasn't intending on going that far but I got carried away.
Graeme - I'my sick of my bike. I'm having a bike fit tomorrow on the advice of my physio so maybe this will make me love it more. Unlikely!

thinking on going back to my old hobby of jigsaws
bloody hell seren, "yeah I did an ironman on Sunday, it was a good'un", how casual? Well done
It was a training session...
I quite like those sessions where you don't have to think about anything other than the length you are doing ... I like to empty my brain

My first ever century ride. Fantastic day but really hard going. Finished off with a refreshing 2km open water swim.

Then back to normal on Monday, which will be good as I'm already starting to go stir-crazy (or something like that).
Cheggers......I wish I had your love of training.I never go stir crazy even if i had a month or two off.....
went swimming in the river today..boy was it tough.....the current was so strong that after half an hour i had barely made my way upstream....
Have a good race Cheggers - think the weather is going to be good - wear suncream! I have peeling shoulders from last weekend....
my first ever sprint tri today.... very happy with a 1:06:58.... with a 34:20 min bike split and 7:04 min miles in the run.
Stunning weather.... more please!
Well done mate
which sprint was it
Spalding.... really well organised, and flat as a pancake!
Well done MC!
Just back from a 4 hour ride - lovely weather but GRRRRRRR at hayfever - now sneezing my head off!
5 hours and 30 mins on the bike in to a 30 minute run, felt good throughout, if the wind wasn't there it would have been perfect.
I'm now stuck with IGIT in the post-session hayfever hell
Well done MC!
well done MC.thats speedy.......
3 hr ride for me in the sun.luckily not affected by hayfever
how did the race go Cheggers........
did anyone else race today
