I think it was after I passed the 13.1 and turned around so I was on the return half. I think I was a bit delirious, cos I probably mumbled at you. You were staring at the ground and digging deep :-)
Glad you did not pull out anyway and glad you made it safely. It was a tough day. It was the hardest one I've done, but by far the most enjoyable.
I was well behind my target, but it is another learning experience. The next one will be better.......
Glad you enjoyed it Biastai. It is a bad habit of mine to look at the ground no matter how long or short my run. I need to learn to look up and maybe I would not suffer from a sore back as much.
Sorry if I did not speak to you but I hope that I acknowledged you speaking to me.
After half way I really struggled so maybe I was concentrating too much but I do remember that a lot of peeps spoke to me and I remember thinking how nice everyone was when they were all running there own race.
I too hope my next one will be better. Some day I will get back to my PB time. Have entered Loch Ness so here's hoping.
You did answer, but like you, my mind is empty of what you said! All I can remember is my watch bleeping every mile.
I would love to do the Loch Ness, but I live in Chester so 300 mile odd is a big distance to travel. However, when I go south the races are not as friendly, hhhmmmm. Just maybe...
You have untill tomorrow to enter it. Come on be brave get on line and enter. I believe it is great. You have until October to train. Then when I next see you I will speak properly to you and remember it. Go on you know you want to.
Dougie - Moray is small and flat - or so I believe. Loch Ness is a good one.
Elephant feet - Bryan (mr debbo) has photos from the start but of course hasn't got round to doing anything with them. He will be sending them to Richk but could email some. What was your number again?
EF, well done for finishing in that heat, hope you were very pleased! Didn't realise that you were still out behind me! Glad you had a good holiday, what's the next one?
dougie, moray marathon is as Debbo says a fairly small marathon in terms of runners taking part, I think just over the 100 last year, course is not completely flat and has a few undulations at the earlier parts of the race but they are not too taxing, there are loads of long straights bits which I have been told can be off-putting. There is also a Half marathon and a 10k on the same day/course which start later than the marathon so if you are speedy (say under 4 hours) you will have some half marathon runners to keep you company in the later stages. It is very friendly and well organised.
Running for Beer - I have a few good shots of you. One wearing a napkin on your hair at the meal (courtesy of Lunacy), a couple at the end and a rather spectacular one of you heading towards Ben Nevis from where we were at about 21 miles. I'm not able to put them on the web (technological incompetence) but will happily e-mail them to you. If you e-mail me from the link here, I'll send them back to you (you can't send attachments from the site). Might take a day or two, as they are on the computer at home, and I'm at work.
Also have some other forum shots (including several of the group at the start) which I will list and forward to anyone who wants them.
www.richk.co.uk has a pretty good array of pics, and I know that moomoo has sent some pics his way, may be worth seeing if he can display some lochaber photos.
I think maybe I saw you EF. I will say hi if i see you if you are at the john carr 5k tomorrow? I will be in an idle vest (that should narrow it down!).I had a horrible time at lochaber as i got a sore knee so now i am doing blackpool so as not to waste my training.
Capybara, so, it was you in the Idle vest. I'm the one who yelled "c'mon Idle" at you as you whizzed past in the other direction. It was nice to see someone local! I was thinking about doing the John Carr but after a terrible run yesterday i think i'll give it a miss. I might manage 1 of the series though.

Next one? Well, there is the Yorkshireman off-road in September, will be much tougher, but it's just down the road... hmmm!
