JJ I have read page 46 and it does give one food for thought. I had missed the related of that section, I had skim read most of the rest of the article. Just shows that my skim reading is not perfect!! I shall review my schedule for next week, like, take 3 days off before my race. Brave, what!! Tremble tremble, why not?

Just giving you guys confidence that you don't have to run 100s of miles a week to do a decent marathon.

Ceal. As usual, it's a guide only. Unless you are totally knackered you don't need 3 days off. 3 miles gentle on Thursday, nothing Friday, 2 or 3 miles gentle on Saturday would be more sensible. Keeps things ticking over.

Thanks JJ, I shall play it by ear next week, but certainly do a 6 mile run on Tuesday, and then see what I feel like. I now have the choice!

Morning everybody else, hope you all slept better than me, that is not difficult! I woke at 3.30 and could not drop off again. Stewart is up earlier today, so rose at 6.oo, I guess that is late for Hippo. A rest day again today, to recover from doing 2 x 13+ mile runs in the same week. Although I will go to Pilates'. Two sessions of Pilates' this week.

What are you up to Spud today? Has Spulet gone back to school yet?

Morning all

A rest day and a lie in for me.

The first day back after a holiday is always hard and I was very tired last night. When you work for yourself, no-one does your work while you are away. I had appointments at 7 and 8.30 last evening.

Bullfinch, I can imagine what it is like, I remember once, when I worked for myself, getting badly delayed on a flight back from Jamacia, (2 days) and having to call a neighbour and get her to go into our house and look at diary, go though files and call my appointments to cancel. It was a nightmare and nearly undid all the good the holiday had done. It was before the days of mobile phones!

JJ No fortune I'm afraid. The 7.00 appointment has only just started working seriously. Up till now, I have just filled in her Self-Assessment Return and asked her to give me a tenner to put on a horse.

Last year the horse lost, this year it won at 4/1.
