Simon don't be daft, you were an absolute star and did what you thought was best, you were helping a friend get to the race she's worked so hard for. Nobody could have seen this, it was announced that the race was going ahead.
Catching up on events and gutted for Brolish. I saw the controversy kicking off on Twitter earlier and it does look like Bloomberg has been forced into this when the better thing to have done would have been to cancel earlier in the week.

Unbelievable news re N.Y. I was surprised when Bloomberg said that it would "definitely" be on earlier in the week, but to leave it this late to do a u-turn is ridiculous.
Change of plan from earlier post as calf felt good and 3 miles on the tready never felt so good!
On the down side have been sectioned by other members of the gym due to unbridled whooping and hollering at not breaking down again!!

30 mins on the staitc bike in the gym and 10mins core work this morning.
Produxtive day today - YKW 21.32 and 1st lady - just 17s off my best and a strong second half so happy with that. Renewed lease on flat, been mountain biking in Epping forest and now off to a black tie dinner. Phew!
Yes I am furious. Totally understand why they cancelled but they should've done it on Tuesday/ Wednesday and not wait for people to fly over and spend all this money/ waste all the training. I'm trying to enjoy the hols but at the moment I'm struggling

I may be shit with a DNS. started feeling rough and a bit fluey last night, slept right through from 11 to 10am. Managed a run this morning with club but very heavy legged and went straight to bed after, shivering. Forgetting a sub 1:30 attempt, see how I feel tomorrow, if I run at all.

((( ))) Brol - stupid late decision, it was obvious early on that putting on the marathon was, at best, going to look insensitive to a lot of New Yorkers and it would have saved a lot of angst for runners trying to rebook flights etc. Hope they give you all free entry next year.........................
