well, I wanted to stay in bed and ended up heading out much later than planned, but managed 10 miles fairly slow run/walk. All the stretching and squats etc during the week have been doing their job because although it felt a little niggly my leg held up and certainly wasn't painful and tight like last week
it was lovely by the time I headed out but autumn is definitely here - lots of fallen leaves and busy squirrels
Where did the summer go! Grey and grim down here. I might have to change from a gillet to a full on rain coat! Or I could just stay in bed tomorrow morning...
Drizzly here too. Early morning yoga and a massage today - I've had some pain from my SI joint area and my masseur fixed me right up. Oh and I've entered Manchester marathon. Yikes!
Yeah, it was here too. I only ran 3.66 miles this morning - had some niggles so didn't want to push things. Wore a rain jacket but had to lose it as I was sweating so much. Bleh.
Hi Maths - how has term been? Are the students behaving themselves?
Had a rest day yesterday as i've managed to pull a ligament in my abs (i've been assured that it's completely normal!). Does anyone have any hip strengthening exercises that they'd recommend?
Clams, glute bridges, donkey kicks, dead bugs... Actually the current issue of RW has a tonne of exercises in it. Worth a look. Hope you feel better soon.
Rather slow and laboured 8.12 miler today - legs felt heavy. Was supposed to be slow but I don't think I could have run faster anyway. Hopefully I'll be better next weekend.
8:30am today - not really SOC. Had to dodge schoolkids on the pavement parts. 5.84 miles with a couple of mile intervals thrown in. Mile intervals were 8:33 and 8:41. A much better run than Sunday.
went to running club tonight, first time for ages so just joined the beginners group to give them a hand with lots of beginners, nice to be out with others and have a gentle session
Emmy - it hasn't been particularly cold here yet - but it is going that way and we have had the heating on a couple of times
River Thames half today. Thought I might finally get that sub-2 hour race, but I made the mistake of setting off too fast and ended up paying for it later. In the end I finished in 2:02:38 - just four seconds slower than Ealing three weeks ago. I can't be too disappointed as that is still my second fastest time of the year and proves that Ealing wasn't a fluke. I may have to wait a little longer to crack 2, but I've another one in three weeks. Let's just see how it goes.

cal - you certainly have had a good year

That's good. I've had issues with ITB, hips and all sorts but a good massage usually works. And not being stupid. That, definitely.
evening all

Hi everyone,
Sorry for being absent - they've blocked the forum at work so it's been hard to get online and reply. How is everyone doing?
I'm not doing so many of the SOC's anymore as i'm needing the sleep! But am still out with the dogs at 7am so it's all good!
PSC - did you manage to get out of bed?
Maths - well done on getting out there!
Hi emmy, hope all is well with you
I stayed in bed this morning
counting the days till half term now but more than 2 weeks to go
I'm lucky - we get a full two weeks off this half term, so only a week and a bit to go.
ah, lucky you!
turbo today, lovely sunny day here

Thanks Cal! I'll have to ask if someone can get me a copy (I live in the Netherlands)
Emmy - take care. I think hormones make the ligaments make lax and prone to injury etc
morning
usual Saturday spin and swim for me today
Rather slow and laboured 8.12 miler today - legs felt heavy. Was supposed to be slow but I don't think I could have run faster anyway. Hopefully I'll be better next weekend.
well done Cal, I had a bit of a crap day but 16 miles covered in all
16 miles? That doesn't sound crap at all!
Bikram and spin today.

Hi all,
It's still dark when i'm running so it's back to headtorch and lights on the dogs. it's also been really cold!
How is everyone getting on with the change in temperature?
Cal - that's a great few splits!! Well done on the run! Are you aiming for a race this weekend?
Half marathon - number 7 of the year! Hoping to beat my PB but as I've set a new PB with each race, I have to keep getting faster. No easy thing.

lovely starry sky this morning, and still not too cold
Looking wet out there.
hi Emmy, bed seems to have greater attraction these days I need schedule and some goals other than work, bed, work. :-/
Morning all
yesterday was a 12 hour day at work and I didn't manage to get up early enough today!
Hi all,
Heading to Amsterdam for the weekend (its only an hour away but nice to get away!) for the half/full marathon.
Have a great weekend everyone!
good luck Emmy
