Yes IWDI I am stalking you, look outside your window now!!!
"Change to a half" Why?
Daz and I have the same philosophy - get out and do it. However my thinking is almost sound in that after the last two marathons I seem to have peaked two to three weeks afterwards. I know this means I have got the training slightly wrong but I thought it might be worth a try. If I end up blowing up in NY, so be it. You couldn't have a better place to stroll the last 5-6 miles, taking in the atmosphere.
I've just got my August issue of RW. What a fabulous picture! * Page 78* The energy, the vitality, the speed! Have you ever seen anything that gorgeous?
The trainers are on again. Done two 5km's this week and managed to get under 30 mins. So it's back to normality for moi -well, as normal as I'm gonna get.
Am I the only one still waiting for the cert and dvd?? sob sob.
Await my copy of RW - get it posted, so it takes a while.
Well done all of you for your running and the thought of "naked in NY"....mmmm makes me think I might go there.ho ho.
I'm doing the Trunce IWDI.It will be my first off road. It's a bit dodgy as Penistone is twinned with the island in the Wicker Man.One wrong turn and i may be getting my feet burnt.
lol, Howeyz, you will do fine!! I will email my telephone number and give you a bell from the car park!! Its a muddy run so bring old or fell shoes etc.
What about Leicester DV? New route through the city, apparently flat: "A flat City Marathon, taking in a lot of the sights and interesting parts of the City including Victoria Park, De Monfort Hall, The Space Centre, Abbey Park, The Walkers Stadium and many more."
1T's doing Amsterdam, Dark V.Can't get flatter than that, surely?I'm doing a Half in Paris in November..not the marathon course. Are you near an airport? Cheap flight to the Benidorm Mara'?
I wouldn’t bother with anything scenic as i spend most of the time look at the person in front in case the just stop and slow and the rest praying that i hadn’t just seen the 11 mile marker!! Didnt see an inch of Paris other than a blue line, banana skins and French folk peeing in tunnels??
Hurrahhhhh got my cert and dvd today - will watch tomorrow.
Not been running today, been digging the veg plot, think that's enough for my back and legs for one day. Will get out for a longer than 5km tomorrow though.
Benidorm vs Leciester...!! Hmmmm... now, give me several hours to ponder that one..
I did my first degree in Leciester, so lived there for three years and I must admit to struggling right now with the prospect of running round the 'sights'. Plus.. I am only 30 mins from Gatwick so could feasibly get to Benidorm just as quick...!
I will look up the Benidorm race and get back to you...
IWDI.. that was a very funny comment you made about the 11 mile marker..
I just looked at the Leicester web site.. how do they make a marathin work with just 150-ish runners..? That surely can't be financially viable..?? That would feel like running on your own.. not sure I would like that.
Benidorm looks exciting, but I think I may go for Dublin...
It was tonight and i ran it IWDI. It was my first time off roading and i loved it.The mud,the river crossing and even the ridiculously steep hill.I took it steady as i wasn't sure what was to come and finished really strong.36 minutes for 4.25 miles isn't spectacular but it's a pb for the event.
I cant belive that i didnt see you.!! I did it it 36.31 so only 31 seconds behind you!! Your a better runner so i expected that you would have done better!! I am going to email my number so that on the next one we can meet up!! It wasnt as muddy as normal but its still hard!!
I've got your number so i'll ring you next time.I looked for you but wasn't sure you'd be running. I set off near the back and took it easy for the first mile or so just to see what it was like.i actually ran 36.15 so we finished almost together. How we didn't meet i'll never know. What was you wearing?
I had a long sleeve ron hill top on in red and a couple of extra pounds around the waist!! I was looking out for you all the time but at the end i was gagged for a drink. Walked back to the car and then had a pint in the pub!

I need some suggestions for an easy marathon in October/November... I want to use it as a kind of motivational marker for Paris 2008...
Any suggestions..??
I'd like one of those.
The RW index didn't have anything that appealed.. however, I found the Dublin marathon site.. looks flat..
Anyone done this..?

Hmmm, why do we do this?
Benidorm/Leicester, easy one that, just look at all the "interesting" parts of Leicester listed above!

Good weekends one and all

Today? Blimey.. I got mine about two or three weeks ago.... Haven't looked at the DVD yet though..

I just needed something to motivate me otherwise the year will be wasted...
