LL - I'm prepared for anything! I ought to prepare you that I don't look like my piccie either!
CR - nightmare just about sums it up but we really did enjoy the weekend. Mrs OB discovered George Jenson's shop and spent quite a lot of the weekend there!
Isn't it Georg, CR? I have some christmas tree decorations. Presents from Danish guests. Lord Lucan has a bizarre christmas tree bauble phobia but he will tolerate Georg Jensen decorations. Just as well really as our tree does tend to look a bit bare otherwise!
Rich has been studying the language, Redhead. CR of course is fluent. I got to grips with the basics when I went last year but found that everyone spoke far better English than I spoke Danish so I gave up. Its a difficult language to learn from a phrase book because half the written sounds are swallowed. For example, the "G" in Magnus disappears. The "D" in Frederik sounds more like an "L".
I know its no excuse not to make the effort. I can manage hello, good bye, how are you? and a little bit more. I also understand more than I can say which stops CR from talking about me with her Danish friends! If you have any Danish friends, ask them to help you with the pronunciation. Danish people really do appreciate it if anyone takes the trouble to try and speak a few words.
CR - thanks for link but that's one scary site! I won't be passing that on to Mrs OB! How can your heart rate monitor be policing your running effort if you're not running? How old is poorly child?
I think we all ought to wear a shirt saying "Tillykke med Rich fødselsdag!" Would that be right?
Redhead - not quite sure about the "if I go that is". You must go!
Are people who have birthdays nowhere near that time invited? PS I propose Seaweed be in charge of cake. He knows the right ingredients to liven up the party!
Afraid not CR; sister died a couple of years ago so the buck stops here. Fantastic that you are Danish. Any questions and I'll be straight to you. Hmm, just thought of one - as a veggie, will I struggle to find yummy food?
Thanks for asking OB. I've just passed my 12 month test - hoorah! Doesn't time fly.......
If I can make it then my hubby will definitely be coming. We haven't got any little ones, unfortunately.
CR - not so little ones! Boy 33 and a high-flying Doctor in London and girl 31 in a month and still to find her path in life. You did know I'm very ancient didn't you?
LL - you HAVE to do 118 with the red socks, moustache and everything even though it will mean nothing to the locals!

OB Try to picture me as a harrassed 39 year old mother of 3. It will be less of a shock for you when we actually meet.

OK, I'm really warming to the idea of running this one.
Mr Silly, although I've entered the FLM, I almost hope that I don't get in so hubby and I can have a mini break to Copenhagen.
Who's going to teach us all the language basics then?

What would you like to know?
I can help you with the spelling, but unfortunately, I'm not so fluent in phonetics...
Rich has invested in a travelguide, I am sure he can help with the basics...
Rich, you asked me about the t-shirt text:
"Happy Birthday to me"
Tillykke med min fødselsdag!
If your Mrs. is into Georg Jensen, then check this one out:
http://www.georgjensen.com/
You might even enjoy the long-legged Helena Christensen yourself!!
2.00pm just got a reminder from my POLAR heartrate monitor, that I have not been exercising enough..
"Find your balance!"
Yeah, you bet! Am home with virus sick child, haven't done much running lately!!!
Tell HRM to mind its own business. You are still recovering from Dublin.
I think we all ought to wear a shirt saying
"Tillykke med Rich fødselsdag!" Would that be right?
Redhead - not quite sure about the "if I go that is". You must go!
OB, I'll do my darndest! - it's finding respite care for mum that's the problem (that's much harder than running a marathon ;-))
BTW it's my birthday exactly a month after (16th June).
Thanks. Little R is 4 1/2 yrs.
I had to check out the manual...
HRM is very clever!
It starts reminding me at full hours, if more than 3 days has passed since my last recorded exercise...
I never noticed that before...
Well, hopefully little R will recover soon, it is more than 3 weeks since we ran Dublin!
Hope little R gets better soon. Does he/she have any brothers/sisters?
I've run about six times since Dublin but no further than 9 miles yet!
Redhead - sorry to hear about your mum, I hope you can get something sorted as we'd love to have you along. Is your health OK now?
It looks like we'll have one big party to celebrate all of us who have birthdays around CPH +/- a few weeks! RichK will pay!
"Tillykke med Rich's fødselsdag"
So many birthdays to celebrate in May... Are you all "twins"?
We need to agree on a text...
Also the big question:
cotton or dry fit t-shirts?
PS I propose Seaweed be in charge of cake. He knows the right ingredients to liven up the party!
Yes, he has sister, who is 7 1/2 years.
How about you and Mrs. OB, any little ones?
Maybe we should add to our list, better halves and little spectators coming to town?
I used to live in Copenhagen, while I studied at the University and I also worked there...
Sorry about your mum. Any siblings to help out?
Thanks for asking OB. I've just passed my 12 month test - hoorah! Doesn't time fly.......

Where have all the lads gone today?
So THIS is where you've been hiding, you little tease...
missed you in Horatio's Bar on Sunday gal.
sorry peeps about hijacking this thread.
