Happy to carry on in that vein, just so grateful you got me inspired! I am sure I am finding my running and training easier as a result. Managed a mega hilly run this morning and previously have always had to walk some bits.
How about we keep the thread as it is for June and toss some ideas about for what people would like to do from July, then we could start getting it organised ready for the 1 July?
So do you mean have another couple of weigh ins for June i.e. 15th June and then at the end and in the interim see how we want to change it? I quite like the idea of rankings i.e. Biggest Loser style?
Yes, was thinking along those lines as trying to set up something for June is going to take a least a week and then we've nearly lost half the month. I too like the idea of Biggest Loser style rankings, although am not sure how that will work for those with not a lot to lose? I could set up a spreadsheet with a calculation that would work out the percentage loss, if I sit down and think about it for a bit!! I'm sure I remember someone saying they were working on gaining weight, so I could work the calculation the other way for them (sorry I can't remember who it was). Maybe we could split it into categories though so you would be competing against people with a similar amount of weight to lose? What do people think?
Well done on the run this morning FL, always a good feeling when you can get up a hill more easily!
LOL RP - I have found it difficult this week as doing the kids lunchboxes over the half term I have been buying cr*p like brunch bars and the occasional one has been slipping my way Ms NGUG has been counting them I think she is on to me... They do seem to have lots of oats and good stuff in as well as chocolate.. I agree RP we need to keep this thread going before we all start slipping towards temptation
TST - if not too difficult to sort/calculate I think you are right the percentage loss would be fairer - they do on the Biggest Loser as well - or maybe just similar weight bands sounds sensible too and easier as no calculations needed - accommodating also for Ecolime as you say who is doing brilliantly.
FL - always really good when you can see the actual differences via performance.. great stuff
We could set our own challenges maybe, and group accordingly eg those all aiming to lose 2lbs in two weeks against those aiming to lose 3lb and those who are trying for 4lb. The group that are nearest or lose more than their collective target, win?
Sorry guys not been home for weeks ... I'll weigh in tomorrow morning (and pray that the scales don't break - the fat girl in the mirror this morning doesn't really inspire me with confidence!) I'd definitely like to carry on next month - hopefully I'll have the all clear from the cardiologist to exercise again and my twin sis will be able to get a little more independent Well done RP (and everyone that's worked really hard this month with all those lost lbs and NSVs)
NGUG - if I set it up as a spreadsheet it will do all the work for me once I work out the calculation, which shouldn't take me long. Anyone else have any suggestions? Once we have the suggestions in we could see who prefers what with a little list vote maybe?
Well done on the run RP! I did 9 miles this morning, which is my longest run since September and only my second ever 9 miler! Seem to have entered myself for a half in two weeks time though so need to get on with it! Weighing in tomorrow and hoping I've lost some - Mr TST says I can weigh weekly again for a few weeks now we have given up booze as I should see some losses, but the first time I don't lose and get upset about it he is making me go back to the fortnightly weigh-ins required for here It's fair enough though I think!
Sorry Guys, I have not been on this thread as much as I should have done.
I will pop in again on Monday and sort out the results for May
I am happy to continue into June if that's what people want, but I am not really keen on starting another thread and would prefer to keep this one going. This who don't post a result within the month will not be considered in the final figures. That way it's easier for those who want to continue to do so as well as those that want to drop out.
The purpose of this thread is for it to be a team challenge where people are not singled out in any way, shape or form, so I don't want the primary purpose to shift from that.
HOWEVER - there is no reason why those that want individal rankings can't say so on this thread and have their own challenge within this one. Am happy to look at biggest weight loss in lbs as well as biggest %age weight loss. We can also have male and female categories if you wish.
Let me know what extras you want and I will see if I can work it in
Sorry forgot about weighing in again until I saw this thread this morning. 3lbs off in total, which isn't brilliant, but at least it isn't 3lbs on lol. Had 2 HMs in May, so a bit tricky to cut back on my food......but the fact that I've managed to lose 3lbs has inspired me to go for it in June
Ha ha I wondered what'd happened to the chocklits I stashed er... I mean...accidentally dropped by the naughty step (I was only carrying them to the bin of course)
1kg (think that is about 2.2lbs) off for me last week weigh in for me on Saturday. NSV - resisting the huge pile of shortbread in the kitchen at work.. why couldnt it just be a small box will be there for days
I think thats the messed up list updated properly now Nuts - including Jojeena who virtually posted at the same time as me - well done on your loss Mrs
Not actually too many people left to put their last weigh ins.. Smunkee are you off to weight watchers tonite? Seem to remember it was on a Wednesday?
Shortbread still lurking in the kitchen at work - decided that it would probably give me indigestion all that butter and sugar - so I wouldnt really enjoy it at all

Valid points Schmunkee and you are right that it should remain a team competition. Perhaps we can remove those who haven't updated at all or in May at the end of the month and carry on from there.
Well I'm rather pee'd off with the leisure centre right now though The scales have been out of paper since at least Sunday and the machine won't work if it can't give you a print out Reported it again yesterday when we went swimming so I'm hoping that they'll be working again tomorrow, but I'm not getting my hopes up. I'm not sure I've lost anything as I've been snacking a bit as I'm not drinking, but I'd just like to know!!
I think you are both right it should remain a team competition if possible - support should be there for everyone.. we want to do well together - no one should be singled out unless of course they have been totally wow in which case its which is why maybe there should be overall rankings re percentage weight etc. - eventually people are adding themselves.. we all lead busy lives...
It would seem that mid-week fits in with a lot of peoples WW weigh in and stuff, so sounds good to me to be 15 and 30 June. And hopefully they may have finally sorted out the scales at the leisure centre by then
Five days to the next weigh in then.. bad day for me foodwise yesterday kitchen at work not only overflowing with shortbread but someone's birthday so lots of M & S bits like mini cookies and American brownies.. I succumbed on the mini American brownies only bite size but v.chocolatey Have to pull my socks up over the weekend..
I'm doing pretty well for once ... though it might be cos I don't have time to eat! Sadly I've been banned from exercising while cardiology work out whats wrong with my heart think not running has stopped me from thinking I can get away with a treat, or two, or three etc! Hope the socks stay up
