I was stunned at the £50 for a digital download!! I knew (from previous experience that they were pricey though).
Paul - Luton marathon is a 3 lap race - flat and quite fast - it's normally in December but the marshalling and support staff are fantastic, there is the downside of it being in Luton so the landscape is less than inspiring - but it's a good fast and not too busy race (held at the same time as the relay).
Well it seems I am back on the thread I started in 2008....because I have a ballot place in London 2012! Of course all being well I should have carried on at the same level after doing it last time and improved hugely, lost loads of weight and should now be in the sub 3 hour gang...
Hello Smaggle and SD - IGood Luck, I empathise with you both...was faster in 2nd attempt, much slower this year...still have the magic sub 5 in my head!
<waves to hopetofinish> How are your chickens? One of mine has been egg-bound for a couple of days but this morning we got the biggest egg you've ever seen! Poor thing.
Oh real drama here Soup Dragon. We are over run with foxes, and one entered the run during the day, I heard the commotion, went running out to find one of the girls in the foxes mouth! Amazingly, the fox dropped said chicken, and she was fine. Have now ordered an extension to the run which is covered, and they will only be able to wonder about in the open if we are actually in the garden.
Your poor chickens - blimey what a scare. We have foxes and when I went to close the pop hole the other night I disturbed one sniffing round. The eglu is thankfully fox-proof and they are only let out of the run when one of us is around. I've bought 2 run extensions though so the run is now 6m long with things for them to perch on so they are fine.
Sorry - we are on a running thread aren't we! Good luck for VLM everyone. I'm deferring my place to 2013 cos I'm meant to be doing ironman in 2012. Just not plucked up the courage to pay the entry fee yet. I might pop in and out if I may cos this has always been a brilliant supportive thread and I still have a marathon to do on July 1 after a swim and a bike ride.
Well, what are the chances?! Shmaggle and Soup Dragon...I'm only in for 2012 too!
Similar story to Shmaggle (well, that's doing Shmaggle a dis-service I'm sure!)...I've done no running whatsoever since, and not sure cycle commuting and five-a-side football counts in terms of improving long-distance times!
Hey ho, there's loads of time left. 197 days is loads of time, right. Right?!
Its like a re-union in here. hiya Tony (sorry lastant).
I'm so tempted to do this in 2012 rather than defer to 2013. But I've got Brighton as well the same month that I've got to give some thought to. Too many races and too little training time.

Glad to hear your chicken is feeling better!

Hello everybody! I've been dreaming of the day I could contribute to this group.
Got a place at last! Now I just need to survive the training.
Ossie? that you?
Rob, running in the suit this year?
Yep, it's me
saw your marmite shirt last Sunday, too distracted by that to notice it was you in it till you'd gone past.
Enjoy your Marathon training this winter (evil laugh)...
I think that'll be the last outing of the vest this year.
