Raf - i quit smoking last year after 25 years. 1 year anniversary coming up in 18 days
BossHolgs - hear what your saying mate. I will certainly pace myself on the event thats likely to take me 16 hours +
Gas - I was in the Royal Anglians 22 years ago, years of smoking & alcohol abuse wiped out any fitness advantage gained from those days, lol.
However, i have retained a strong will power & self motivation to complete anything i set my mind too.
Talking of ringers, from what i've read, your the swimming Phelps on this thread, lol.
Anyway, has anyone got any advice on how to get out of a wetsuit quickly after the swim please? It takes me ages to get my legs out, would using that bodyglide stuff on my legs first help?
SD - congtrats mate!! 18 months for me (tomorrow I guess??)
As for the wetsuit - there's a few videos on youtube worth watching. One sugestion is bodyglide on your legs AND the outside of your wetsuit at the bottom as well - once its turned inside out the bodyglide helps if you see what I mean??
What he said about greasing the wettie. I used Boot's cheapest *ahem* lubricant and smear it up my legs and arms and over the legs and arms of the suit.
And in a race, somehow, it just comes off. Probably because I'm not fussed about damaging it in a race.

No I don't keep it quiet, I keep it in the fridge
Holgs, you're in big trouble.
Sent my training buddy the link to Celtman and she's well up for it
Also sent her the link to Norseman, but I can't tell you her reply to that or I'll be banned.

Am i right in thinking if its not petroleum based it's wetsuit friendly?
Tingling ones? You still talking about motion lotions?
classic, can you imagine getting a sweat on during the swim.... hmm i wonder if you'd move quicker through the water?!?
There are times when one shouldn't pop back into a thread and just read the last 3 or 4 posts.
One has come over all peculiar
Never mind, just wipe it all up...
These stains are never going to come out.
The gimp under the stairs
Reading this made me choke on my coffee brilliant!
I would say "welcome", Tom, but I think I should go with "RUN! Run while you still have the chance"
