Paul - I heard the train's finishing whistle blast when I was still up in the hills! A quick glance at my watch said it was about 1:48 (but sound takes time to travel!). Do hope you made it, and yes, I believe they will be sending out certs eventually. The results should reveal all ...
paul- on the results list on the night, they had a line at about 1:47:50 so i reckon you did it, well done. Also amazing race by matt the brum, where would you have come if you had just done the main race?
hopefully see you all next year, i know i am now hooked.
Cool! I hope that shows up in the resutls, thanks CT!!
yeah, Matt, pretty impressive, might be tempted to do two runs myself (just have to work on a plan to persuade the family they want to go to Tywyn again next year....) - how does the 10k compare to the full race, presumabely much of it follows the same route?
Just wanted to say how great and thoroughly enjoyable this event is. Finished 2:28 in road shoes and took it really easy. Shall be back next year to give it a good go and try for nearer 2:15 kwith adequate footwear and knowledge of the course. Great atmosphere, interesting terrain and a great run
Well done all on some cracking times and congrats (again) to matt
Here we go again (waiting for results)! I too think Dazza's hit the nail on the head.
I've looked back at HTA's RTT forum last year. After lots of frustrated forum posts, he finally scooped the news that results were up on 29 Aug, 10 days after the race. So let's keep our cool for now.
I for one am awaiting results so we can get a report on our club website.
I'm pretty sure we agreed last year that the race is hosted by none runners so they have no energy to get them posted quickly. Most running clubs will have results up with in minutes.
Matt T B - A brilliant win for the 10k and an amazing effort in the main. Caz and myself did see you come in on the 10K and gave a shout over. Brilliant ruuning
yet another good race (Main Race) and a P.B to throw in as well from 2hr.16m to 2hr.7m no problems with the marshallers and i also helped out with putting together the goodie bags on the friday and a good bunch as well, LOVE to meet the FARMER who keep PLOUGHING the field at the 6.50 mark tell him whati think of him
I will be returning next year to do the 25th anniversary Race.
We didn't get a medal - there were no goody bags left when we finished which was very disappointing. We also had a run in with a stroppy rude marshall because we were soooo slow (we were slow - no dispute over that!). We weren't the only ones she had a go at which was a shame because all the other marshalls were very lovely and friendly and there was a good atmosphere. I hope to go again next year and do some training this time!
There is no way in the world I would have wlaked away without my bit of tin. Get in contact with them as HTA says, I'm sure they will send you one. This year one of my local races didn't have enough momento's for everyone so they sent them out to them after the event. You definately deserve one, more so then others of us who didn't spend as much time on feet, well done!!

Brian - sorry to hear that.

I wonder when the results are going to be available, organisation before and after this event is odd, during it is great.

There is a complaints notice on the Race the Train. If people would bombard them with their grievances perhaps they would hurry up.
It's in your hands................................
Not 100% sure.
What a brilliant event!!!!!!!!!!!!

Running Caz says it's a good medal. Here's runners from Dudley Kingswinford proudly showing off theirs
