I'm less bothered about the weather having survived the gower marathon in driving rain, high winds and then hill fog. That said it really wasn't much fun so if someone can arrange for us to have a bit of sunshine (but not too warm) for the weekend I would appreciate it!
I was planning an ice cream break in swanage - there used to be a great italian ice cream cafe there...it won't work if its wet!!
my weather forecasting stone saying, rain on Friday, clear on Sat with moon for the Oners, and Sunday pretty ok until about 3pm when clouding over, rain past 9pm, but you'll all have finished by then! and be busy tucking into food and a shower.
Here's hoping BA's weather stone confirms, yep and I'll bring cheese & crackers! Wensleydale of course! Ah up.... it'll be a grand day out....!
Sounds a bit like anything could happen then! I won't pack the suntan lotion - that usually results in warm weather! Can't wait to get out of work today!
It is raining quite heavy down here in Weymouth at the moment. The path from Bowleaze cove out to Lulworth is muddy in places. The forcast on local tv is for showers / light rain all weekend.
Not only have I managed to catch the lurge and a tooth filling that fell out but the dentist has now conspired to make things worse by doing a root canal, hacking a bit of gum out and filling down my jaw bone so he can fit a cap on. This has necessitated in antbiotics, mouth washes and creams to apply. Is somebody upstairs trying to tell me something?
1 bag of running kit, 1 bag of 'casual' clothes/wash kit etc, My rucksack for actually running which contains the compulsory kit, 1 small bag of nutritional bits and pieces 4 pairs of shoes
I thought the amount of kit needed for triathlon was excessive
Dont worry about the beer BP, I am not staying at the holiday park. It`s a lovely morning down here, but there is heavy rain and inceasing wind forcast for afternoon and night.
Ouch BA. Sounds painfull. Probably nearly as bad as the bill he gave you afterwards!!
Just back from Portland. It was quite muddy up there today which made the path slippery. Stopped raining just as I got off the highground. Typical! Hope all you doing the JCC have a good one tomorrow. Maybe catch up at some point over the weekend. Good luck everyone. Hope you all have a good weekend.
yeah, packing my wellies and waterproofs.... just about to load car and head down south later this afternoon, picking up my runner tomorrow on route, will try and catch some of you at some CPs later tomorrow afternoon - probably Ferry Bridge, before the Oner starts. Rain rain go away...come back another day, like Monday!
lol..... T-Rex.. Was not up on Portland at that time, I edited a previous post at the end rather than post another message.
I was over at West Bay earlier as some of the JCC runners came through, was very wet and slippery on the paths there. Some of the G3 came through. Seemed to be mostly runners in the walkers group. First runners were coming through West Bay about an hour after G3 start time, so were making good time. Just been checking out weather on BBC, seems to be improving. Getting a bit nervous now. My hotel is right on Weymouth seafront, can see all the way over past Osmington through to where the big climbs start at Rinstead. Jules/ BA have a good trip, hopefully catch up with you tomorrow.
just spent a marathon amount of time in the car in the rain, the traffic and roadworks, finally got half way, so crashing out tonight and we'll see you tomorrow.
VB - we'll be in a dark green rover 75, we'll call out your name shall we? I'm the one with a NZ accent, long dark plait and probably with some athletic and mad silver haired chap.
Anyway, the rest of you guys/gals - well done all for completing Day 1 - tomorrow's weather an improvement.
Managed to get about 6 hrs last night. Was looking at some of the pictures and times from day 1. The mud looked really bad as you leave Abbottsbury around Fleet lagoon. Lovely dry morning down here, weather forcast is dry today into tonight, rain coming in tomorrow morning.
Hey all - am i first back? Fastest I've been all weekend! Hope everyone survived the weekend and is now back home safe/warm and smothered in ibuprofen gel! I had a brilliat time...didn't get a brilliant time but survived. Have to eat more now though so catch you all later!

I am going to use my forecast, not that it will be any more reliable to the others but on one crucial point it does not mention heavy rain

I will use that one too, but mainly because Joe Bastardi contributes to the site and I like his name!
Right I am signing off, hopefully I will meet some of you over the weekend. I will probably just introduce myself as Guy instead of Mr Guy though.
Good luck everybody I hope you all achieve what you want from the weekend and remember, as Churchill said "If you are going through hell, keep going"

Hope you all a good trip down.
That sounds really nasty BA, just reading about it made me feel a bit funny (and not in a good way!)
Oh no BA that is grim. Hope you are OK in the morning and nothing else falls off/out?!
Don't go drinking all the beer VB - see y'all tomorrow night!
Awwh BA so sorry - hope it gets sorted.
Bp - my luggage seems to be expanding - hope I can get it into our caravan.
Glad its not just me Bear...

Oh BA! hang in there, a few days to go yet.... fingers crossed that you'll feel better by Sat night.

Valleyboi - steady on there - you've only got to do one Oner this weekend. Why were you up on Portland before dawn?
Wishing all JCC competitors the very best. You all know what happens when the going gets tough.

I'd get plenty of rest in, Valleyboi. You've got what my doctor calls "a surfeit of exercise" coming up.
Congratulations to all Day 1 finishers. Only 52.4 miles to go.

Just about to get some sleep T-Rex... As long as the noisy sods in the room above stay out anyway.
No probs Jules, being picked up at 2.30 by V02, will be at hq soon after. See you there. Just shout Anthony.

Tomorrow morning can do what it likes - you'll be in the groove by then.
Look forward to reports.
