  • Good news on the ankle ID.

    Think ive probably put 6lbs on during the run up to christmas. Will lose it once the old IM training commences in a couple of weeks.

    Hows everyones 30 week Outlaw training going?

    I entered this bad boy today as my Olympic image cant wait

  • Morning, all very quiet on here lately.

    Guess your all either doing Christmas stuff or training to much to post image

    Hoping to do a cheeky 40 mile ish ride today, its a bit blowy outside though so cold be interesting.
  • Morning SD,

    Enjoy the bike ride.

  • Cheers Holgs. You up to much today?
  • I'm still here.  Been swimming, running and turboing this week, but today I'll be making mince pies and staying cosy in front of the fire.

    Good luck on the bike SD, the weather here is far too fierce to venture out in.

  • Well done Nursey. I havent made it out the door yet image
  • Managed a couple of runs the last few days, but had ingrowing toe nail done (sore!), and my missus has turned 40, so busy with that too.  Oh, and apparently it's Christmas soon.

    Off for a nice Xmas Eve fell run tomorrow.

  • Working today and tomorrow and then on Tuesday I think I shall cycle up to see the 'oss and make use of what ever time I have left before the annual indulgence and then back to work again Wednesday ...

    My cycling home until April.  Turbo just out of shot.

  • At the moment supervising a toddler with her lunch whilst Em has gone to sainsburys. Will run and turbo later to keep out of trouble.

    Hope the toe improves quickly Tim.

  • Is most of the food on her rather than in her, Holgs?

  • Braver man than me Donkey !!!

  • ID, I'd be having the wine rack in front of the bike.  And filled up

  • ID how are you going to keep hydrated when using the rollers? The wine rack is empty image

  • Good spot reference the wine rack. It's been empty for a few years. I should have gotten rid of it although I'm banned from doing so as it was a wedding gift which makes it a battle not worth fighting. Of all the things to get sentimental over.

    Still. I know my place.
  • While I'm feeling snap happy.  Here's a view of the Sea swim for my half distance event in September.  Man my swimming had better improve.... fast.

  • that is a beautiful beach - where is it?

  • I'm more interested in those restraint looking things hanging up in ID's dungeon image

    Managed a 41 mile ride, wind dropped a lot by half way. Had to ride through some deep floods.

    Can tell i havent ridden far in a while, legs can feel ive done this today.
  • That is indeed a lovely beach

    I can smell the sea  image

  • Matschick - The beach is on the Island of Guernsey and can be found along it's northern coastline. More info can be found in this pic here (both pics taken by me).  As I mention above, this beach will be used in the Half Distance event I'll be doing in September of next year.  More info on that event can be found here.

    I'm on the island visiting the folks for Xmas and "enjoyed" a 15 min paddle this morning.  Naturally I wore a wet suit and was made to feel quite silly when a pair of 60+ year old ladies got into the water in nothing but an old fasioned all in one bathing suit and matching flowered swim caps.

    SD - those restraints are cords for a TRX body weight suspension training system.  I swear by it for my core strongth and conditioning work.  After the rollers / turbo and the power tap, it's the best bit of kit I've ever had.

  • ID - looks lovely. I have heard of Graniteman - is it a tough one? ot just a good name?

  • By the looks of it, the toughness depends on the weather. The bike and run courses are relatively flat so on a good day without wind I would have thought it offers the potential for a good time.

    That said, if the wind is blowing (as it is today - gale force 8), the ride and run along the East coast of the island would be quite miserable.

    I'm thinking the name merely stems as a little play on the granite rock that makes up much of the islands geology and was widely exported many many years ago. Of course, the islands other main historical exports were flowers and tomatoes.

    Of course, the Tomato / Flower Man doesn't tend to carry the same gravitas or appeal, does it.
  • hehe - FlowerBoy triathlon would be a good one

    Ahaaa .. wondered where Rafi & Holgs had got to   image

  • Just looking back over this years training

    I did a CSS Test in January

    400 = 7.55
    200 = 3.52
    CSS Score 2.01/100m

    Repeated a few weeks ago
    400 = 6.45
    200= 3.15
    CSS Score 1.39/100m

    Nice to see improvements ... now on to the cycling  image

  • That was pretty good for you Meldy, the improvements aren't bad either image

    I'm also a TRX fan.

  • I need to work on my 200  image

  • Weekly update & a Merry Christmas to you all if i dont get chance to post again before the day
