The treadmill is great for speed bursts and saving your feet I go gym via sponsership and spend 3 hours working out once a week every thursday least busy times. I work on my core using all the apps in the gym start 5-10 on each app then short session on treadmill building up I usualy take a drink with me to keep hydrated I go in to work usually take protein powder shake before and after and lucosade drink or similar this improves your strength and stamina big time yes I suppose I have done alot of miles get your feet checked follow advice from forums on runners world get tips and most of all enjoy the new you and the challenge.
Same here really. When I do my treadmill running at the gym, I often have a cross training and weights session and usually a swim as well, but I just drink water.
Richard Guest. It is a very slow time, but I am just coming back from long term injury so plan on building a solid base of gentle running before thinking about speedier stuff.
Great couple of days running here. A friend came over for dinner last night and before I cooked, we did a pleasant chatty 5 miles, only slightly disrupted by some unpleasant heckles. This morning 7.5 miles easy, beautiful autumnal morning
Great to have you back Solent Runner! Some impressive stuff from Richard Guest, Sqwark, and others.
I've been away for a few days in due to travel hassle, running did not happen (plane got diverted, etc.). Anyway, back now. Went for a breezy 10M, 1.14. Felt relatively easy.
Did a nice 12 mile run this morning across fields, streams, up a killer hill, then got a bit lost and ended up in a narrow valley. Wet & muddy, and great fun.
I do a 14 mile trail run Saturday mornings along the the canal towpaths and woods round here.October and November have been brilliant weather for running.Rural runs are always best in the autumn even in the rain there's nothing like getting back to nature to make you feel truly alive.
4 miles this morning, in the dark. Didn't do a LSR as I had a twinge in my knee over the weekend, but that seems to have disappeared now. Hope this mild weather lasts, though they were talking about snow on the radio this morning.
8M into work, with a 16min/4k tempo bit in the middle. Didn't feel great doing it but with steady head wind and two runs still in the legs, as it were, it actually wasn't bad at all.
First run in about 2 months after a fractured foot, and then a cold and bronchial infection. Just over 2.5 miles round the block. Some discomfort in my foot toward the end, and still not completely shaken off cold. I'm going to have to take this slowly. But still, finally running again.
30 minutes on the treadmill. I only go on it once a week to try and concentrate on posture while running. I also carry 2kg hand weights to try and strengthen upper arms and shoulders. Don't know if it is helpful, but seems to be a good idea
JT and Solent, glad to hear are back running again! Hi Paco, well done on the treadmill run. Not sure that I could run for 30 minutes on the treadmill with weights!

Richard Guest: Sounds like you have had a few good trips away racing. You must have racked up some miles.
7.5 treadmill miles for me in 1:15.
Survived a Streak-threatening hamstring tweak and ran 5.2 modestly paced miles by the beach yesterday morning
Streak now = 291 days.
Hey folks.

Hello Paco, and welcome back JT. Good to see you back running Solent Runner!
me; 12.5M on the Meon Valley Trial. Quite athmospheric in the fog. Moved nicely, about 7:40m/M
