i have a nike sportband ian. i WAS going to have a Garmin for christmas but for long runs i am wanting to learn to pace myself by instinct. however IF there are any i see a good deal on in new year then maybe i will..
i dont do karate anymore Jude but did for 6 years from 20 to 26.I did a form of karate called tai soo do,which is Korean.
I never had been so fit before and since, and enjoyed it greatly.
Wish your leg bone better RR! a bit of physiotherapy needed maybe?
Has anybody here got a garmin or similar?if so are they any good?
i hope ecky's boy is feeling better and i wish you better too Angel.
everybody else ok ???
Thanks. I had some physio on my shoulder earlier this year - troublesome injury that I picked up about twelve years ago, which flares up every now and then. Since physio, I don't think I've had any major problems with that shoulder. Also before physio I couldn't turn my head on that side anywhere close as I could on the other side. With any luck, it'll produce the same results for my knee.
I'm tracking a Nike + Sportsband as well - holding fire in case 'Santa' comes through for me. Charts distance, pace, calories and time - that's all I need, and it's much cheaper than a Garmin.
Well when you go to a track, you know that a certain amount of laps is a certain distance, whereas I can't be sure if I'm correctly measuring how long a mile is for example, by plotting it on various sites. I heard a lot about people having to 'calibrate' it, but if all you have to do is enter those details on the Nike site, that keeps things simple.
ooo i see..well all the routes i run have been measured in the car long ago lol...so know how long all my routes are and where the 1/2/510/mile point is is etc and because i have a few worked out i change them round, add them together to make longer ones etc...i wear a watch too sometimes to check that the nike time is matching true. and it is. i have found the diatance on nike pretty accurate.
I'm looking forwards to beginning a record of how many miles I've run - it'll be fun to see the total after a few years. So do you find it pretty accurate, Loula?
RR, yes i find it accurate.had mine since january..am on something like 550+miles
ian, no you dont need the nike trainers for the sportband. i DO have nike trainers but they are kids ones. i out the sensor in a bit of bubble wrap and tag tie it to the front of my trainer-works fine
We went to Big Girls parents evening tonight and she is doing really well apart from one thing...........she talks too much.I wonder where she gets that from.
Im still really hoping the Garmin Fairy comes to me Christmas.I have been such a good girl.
Legs are so sore tonight.I had to get Hubby to help me up the Car Park at the school.I may have to give up the club run tomorrow night. My friend worked out that we did over 250 squats on Mon. I hate Pyramids.
ooo ecky,, i hate squat things,,really makes ya bum hurt....i think my worst case of achey leggies was after my first ever event..had to go down stairs backwards for 2 days
Lol Ian yes I am just nowhere near as brilliant as our Sparkly Little Loula .
Loula I could do with a stair lift.I am having to drag myself up on the Bannister.I may have to do the backward technique. I must admit he has not killed us like that for ages. I suppose its all good.
